Default Waterside...count down to March 26th!

Just a little over a week to go!

Here's some info and comments

Besides just the greatness of Vette owner's and friends gathering together again in a fantastic location on the first weekend of Spring 05,

We will be awarding 21 trophies! One in six attendees will take one home. Of course, all of you get a commemorative dash Plaque

Hooters is sponsoring and conducting the 50/50 events which offer great prizes.

Relay for Life volunteers will be there to thank you for youir support and assist with the details of the event

We will be parking all around the Waterside facility. Three cars will enjoy a featured and unique "Inside Waterside" display! If you have a C1, C2 and want to be in this display, please e mail me!

The central point for the event will be the Patio surrounding Hooters. The Trophy Display, the Hooter's Prizes and the "registration" table will be on the Patio. Your registration is, of course, complete, but you will want to pick up your Dash Plaque (coupon was included in your registration package) and we do have an additional waiver for your signature. Dash Plaques will be available for your pick up after 11 AM

There are lots of places in Waterside to eat and relax, we would appreciate your supporting Hooter's.

Please vote for your choices in the People's Choice awards. You received a ballot, more will be available from the volunteers and at the registration point. Please turn your ballots in by 2:30

At 3 PM, The winners of the Raffles will be announced and at 3:30 we will begin the Vette Awards.

Exiting the facility after the show will be easy, but just have a little patience

Arriving in the AM, please have your registration card available on your dash and please follow the directions. All entry will be from the west on Boush/Waterside. Please don't try to make left turns off Waterside Dr into the facility. We will have ramps to facilitate driving over curbs when required, so please don't hesitate to follow the directions of the volunteers helping you park. Please plan to arrive after 9:30 AM

We do need 10 to 12 volunteers to assist with the parking and we would ask you to arrive earlier, between 8:30 and 9:00 please. Some of you have already given your names to Tony Watson, any one else willing to help please e mail Tony or I.

This is going to be a great in a great atmosphere! Bring lawn chairs, coolers, cameras and be prepared to meet and greet fellow Vette owners and spectators who want to admire your car!

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

There are a few slots open, but rather than mail in your registration, please e mail me at

buydavette@aol.com

Thanks....your support has been great!

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but we are thinking of doing the picnic at Lake Anna at the end of June this year! Our good friends at the Beachcombers Corvette Club are having a show in early June! Those would be our June events! The Cruise In at Bowling Green is our May event!

Weather may be better and less folks may be off on their vaction plans!

Back to the event at hand, glad you are joining us

Jack

Hey Jack,
Sorry if this is a 'politically incorrect' question, but we've never been to an event like this... I'd like to try one of the Zaino kits - will there be vendors there? It would be nice to save on the shipping charge.

No such thing as a bad question

Sorry, no vendors, though I do think one of the participants may be a Zaino dealer for Virginia

I misspoke...there will be a vendor there....HALL CHEVROLET will have two C6's there (Ron, bring your check book). Hall became a major sponser of this event when they donated all the trophies

look forward to meeting you

Ok ... let's see ... I get my first Vette nine months ago .... enter my first show and try to supress the drool factor and not wanna add EVERYTHING to my car all at once ... and now THIS! Major temptage of a turn key mega ride ..... I think I need to not only leave my checkbook at home but have an escort to prevent delving into one.

(It's like a drug ... it starts out soooo innocently with a good deal on a used one ..... then ya go out of control. OK .... I think I can fit in very well )

If Anne brings her three dogs( last I knew she had about five), you'll have your hands so full you won't be able to hold a pen

Can you get there early to help with parking? Shoving your car over the edge will take some help

Yup .... I'll be glad to help .... with my 'patina ride' there is not much to polish. The car will be pretty much ready when I get there. I'll have my purple Relay For Life shirt on ... goes well with the gray hair!

Ok ... so if Anne brings three dogs ... and I have a full lap ... I can just give HER the checkbook to hold??? No ... on second thought ... two Vettes .... blank check ... BAAAAAD idea.

Actually ... the monthly payment on a C6 would kinda equal my alimony payment .... the mind races with all kinds of bad thoughts ......

So I'd dump the ex wife and get a C6 if the payments are about the same! Plus, I don't want to get personal, but I'd think a C6 would me more fun than an ex wife! But what do I know

I don't have either!

LOL .... I like your logic. Not sure the judge would agree ...

Bernie has been after me to drive his C5 .... I have been resisting, may be too much and push me past the brink of abstainence.

If they ever invent a time machine .... I'm going back to the summer of 67 and "look after" my cousin's '67 427/435 fastback when he goes back to 'Nam and bring it back to the present. And what did he do when he came back the following year??? Trade in on a 68. AAARGH!!! Kinda like when my grandfather died in '63 and his 56 Chevy 210 2 dr sedan went up for sale. Picture a nine year old kid BEGGING his parents to buy him a $500 used car!

How about yours?

There is a group of us meeting behind the Burger King at J. Clyde Morris Blvd (Rt. 17) and I-64 Saturday morning at 8:15 AM. We will be leaving for Waterside at 8:30 AM. There should be plenty of places to get breakfast at Waterside. See map below.

There isn't much in the line of breakfast at Waterside or in the surrounding area. You might want to get coffee and eats before you come across the tunnel
