I need a volunteer that can write up a checklist and/or a beginer type list of everything they would need to bring to a race and some tips for new drivers (or experienced drivers)
We as a team want to be able to give this packet out to everyone but especially those of us that maybe have not raced as much/ or ever before. This can be for anytype of racing not just Auto-X.
EXAMPLE:
Things to bring to the track:
Water
Lip Balm
Tire Gauge
Membership Card
ETC....
Racing Tips:
Sometimes Slow IS FAST
Concentrate on being smooth
Walk the course at least once
Take Notes
Check Tire Pressure after each run
ETC...
Wear good shoes and walk it several times if you can..Run a full tank of gas if you have a C4..Try to keep from spinning the tires(like Rick and I on a a slow, but fun run)Try to make the course as short as possible, don't run it like an oval where MPH means everything(For you former circleburners)Try to hit the cones with the rear wheels(until you suceed)...That's my contribution for now....
I'll start putting something together in MSWORD format.
Rob
There is a huge amount of information on the Auto-cross/ road racing part of the General Corvette forum on CF. Look for the sticky at the beginning. It's how I got started.
