Okay, I'll give the run down. Heading home we went back through Skyline drive. We were just cruising right around the speed limit. We stopped at the last rest stop before the gate. Then we all left. Well there was a park ranger at the very next pull off waiving us to stop. We all stopped (five of us). When she approached my car she asked if we just left the rest area and I said yes. But then she said she was told there were four cars and asked if I just joined the group. I said no I've been with the group then entire time. She then gathered all our licenses and she came back with warnings for spinning/squeeling our tires leaving the rest stop. Not one of us did that. I was the last in line and saw everyone pull away and one of us even came close to doing so.
I didn't see a park ranger sitting in the rest area so I don't know who called her. But I think it helped that she was told four cars and not five. That didn't look good for who ever called it in.
But I would of been pissed if we got tickets. I would of went back to look for skid marks on the road.

WHoA!!!

...as we headed back home, I said to my wife, "look at these Vettes flying up" ~ turned out to be a red (ZR1) Vette and a couple GTO's

The one GTO screamed past so loud! and spitting flames the whole way - I could still hear them in Warrenton, while we were back in Amissville

The last few miles of 211 before Warrenton are very tempting. A couple years ago when "The Stalker" was playing with Robin in his red NSX we did hit triple digits on that stretch. This year I was on the cruise at 62 the whole way with Laurie behind me. We did have a mystery incident of a Park Ranger turning on his blue lights south of Meadowlands as he passed us. But he never came back to us, and we were doing a whole 41-42 on a downhill stretch.

They're watching us.

The problem is the event is to large. We need to stop meeting outside the park and meet inside like the first few years. Skip the permit and change the dates around too.

I do remember meeting inside the park one time - I think at that first park stopping place (w/ a building)

The permit is and gives the park service an opportunity to have us as the subject of their morning (partol) meeting

A month ago she said she would go. Then she forgot and had another obligation. I told her to put fall Skyline on her calendar right now.

She was going to bring her niece from Baltimore to ride with her. Kaila would have been blown away because her favorite car is the Corvette. And Robin's bf was going to ride with me and beg to drive. But it never happened.
