CARLISLE
Anyone headed to Carlisle Friday AM? I 'll be going up I-95 to Rte. 17 in Fredericksburg, to I-66 then I-81 to Carlisle. I'll be stopping at Waffle House around 6:30-7:00am. (exit 104, Carmel Church. from the exit take a left and the Waffle House will be on your right about 1/2 mile) I'll be on FRS channel 5
I'll be staying at the Hampton Inn at Chambersburg about 20min south of Carlisle

Are you already meeting anyone else at the waffle house?
I think I will pass you up though. I want to be to Carlisle around 8 or 8:30 am.
What are those directions for going up 17 though?
If you say that way is faster.... I'll try that route. You are right about DC traffic.
Here is a question for you Mike. If I am around DC, and in the vette, can I use the HOV lane if I have a passanger? Because you know how in DC the HOV is for 3 or more people. Well I only have two seats, so can I ride in the HOV-3 lane?
Oh yea, I'm also staying at a hotel in Chambersburg too. Can't remeber the name right now. I'll have to find my confirmation.

Ed, I'm not meeting anyone yet. Me and my buddy just stop there and fill up before we hit the road.
HOV ? Nope. As far as I know ya gotta have 3 :(

From here in Newport News, I can make it to Carlisle in about 4-4 1/2 hours early in the morning with no traffic. I only go 9-10MPH over the speed limit most of the time. Unless people are passing me going 80-85MPH on 95. Then I'll hang it out there a little bit more too. :D

I told Phil I'd be monitoring Channel 15! Do these things have a channel 15? :confused:

the route you have chosen is the CORRECT one.
once you get onto I-81 (from rt 50/17) you will pass within hearing distance of my house just prior to reaching the next exit (rt-7)
I will be leaving my house at 6:00 am Friday.... its avout 1 1/2 ..tp..1 3/4 hours from here.
Once in pa... i take exit 12 to the fairgrounds.
some chose exit 13? which takes you down main street (which is also the parade rt).
exit 12 takes you by the colledge, and there is usually a little extra scenery in that area. :p:

Arrived in Chambersburg this afternoon.
Carlisle weather forecast for tomorrow: sunny and warm, with highs in the mid-80s. Should be a great day for 'Vette enthusiasts.
For those coming from the Richmond area, watch your speed on Route 17 between I95 and I66 - several officers with radar were parked in the median.

Hey Mike, We'll be leaving saturday morning also and staying in Chambersburg too... We'll see ya'll up there minus the vette:( Water in the gas and she's still not acting 100% and not enought time to run though the full tank of fresh gas ,dri/gas and fuel injecter cleaner.
