What a great day for a race, the weather was great, the drivers were even better, no broken cars and no walls hit.

Tomorrow will be even better

RPM has a great bunch of drivers here, as do CAT and CCI, CCI is the host club for the event and are doing a great job.

More fun tomorrow.

We need details and pictures Mike. Thanks for the updates too. All I have around here is some high horsepower jets... but I'm missing the walls and cones. And of course the long lost friends that I know.

See ya,
Ed

WOW! What a great weekend at the ROCK!! entering turn 1 at over 100 mph was a gut-check for sure! Learned alot from watching the experienced drivers go for it, too - some pretty quick times out there and no major mishaps

Next up - Sanford, NC over the Memorial Day weekend - 3 days of pure driving fun - find the details here:

Day 2 was great ED, we really missed you, the track was fast, I agree with Donna L, I was going into turn 1 at 110+, kinda fun, and kinda scary.

The Greenville Corvette Club did an outstanding job as usual.

The Nashville Corvette Club gang showed-up in force, if you missed this event, you really missed out on a wonderful weekend.

Mike,
Glad all went well. I am curious if my IIIE record of 61.848 still stands after this weekend. I know Mike Edmondson was going down in his John Deer Green IIIE C4 to whoop up on my record. If so, that means Angie and I will come next year to defend it.

I would love to see some times of all the classes if anyone has them or knows roughly what they were running time wise? Who was OVERALL FTD this year?

I'm not sure if Mike was able to catch your record or not, if he didn't, it wasn't for a lack of trying, that car is fast and he is a great driver. If I see the results I will check for you.

Hey Aaron,
I'm almost positive that your record is safe. I don't believe anyone broke into the 62's. You need to ask Mike how fast he was going while he was cutting the grass (backwards) in the Green Machine.

If you want a copy of the results, I will send them to you as soon as I receive them.
Johnny got FTD both days. For whatever reason most people seemed slower than they were last year assuming they were still in the same car, class, etc...

You should try to come down to CMP on Labor Day weekend & see if you can set a record there.

The Nashville contingent says thanks to all the Greenville folks for putting on a great weekend at The Rock. The adrenaline is just now coming back to reasonable levels.

It was obvious a lot of hard work went into making this a fun time. Weather was outstanding, food was great and hospitality even better. Sure hope this is scheduled again next year.

RPM thanks all that made the event possible We all had a blast Ed, Brooke got to within 3/10ths of my best time when she ran 67.8 to my 67.5

I took Bills Screaming Bananna for an "Easy Ride"during practice after the event, no like the last time I borrowed a Z for a hot lap

Anthony,
Would love a copy of the results if you get a chance. I would love to come to CMP since I have never run there before. We will see how the schedule goes. I see the record in IIIE is like a 1.45 something set by my buddy Charlie Johnson. I broke his record at Roebling so maybe I should try to take another one from him. Kidding, Good friend for long time and has raced with my father since I was in diapers. I would love to come see all my friends down there and that would be satisfying enough for me.

It will probably be at least a week before results are out, but I will send them when I get them.
CMP is fun, it's like a road course & an autocross all rolled up into one. It's not easy on the car as you are up & down through the gears & hard on the brakes. I enjoy it more than Rockingham. The Rock only requires horsepower & ***** ( & I'm a little short on both)

If you can beat a 1:45 at CMP, you are the man. That record has been there several years & while tires have improved (at least the DOT tires) the track has slowed down considerably.
Later,
Anthony

Anthony,
I am going to try my best to get there. I miss coming south to you guys' events. I will make sure I bring my softest stickiest compound slick for maximum grip.: I broke Charlies record at Roebling in 2001 and did a 117.??? He just about killed me when I did it. If I can break this one, he is really going to kill me.
