Setting a new speed record for that particular female officer...Priceless
This is not a chop. It is real and don't try this at home. It happened right out of the toll booth. She got me 2 miles later. I knew there was a reason that I needed to win the 50/50 drawing that I didn't win. It would have paid this fee. I still had a blast at Skyline.

Bob!
Who took the pic? You or her? Play it cool and she may not show up to testify in court!
Hey Bob, I was under the impression that "Mad Max" was at the controls, and you were only along for the ride.........
Here he is looking all innocent!

Paid my $15 at the booth. Accelerated and just kept accelerating. Just hit 3rd and she comes at me from around a corner. I dropped it to 2nd and braked. It took her a few to get turned around. She eventually caught up with me and I just pulled into the first overlook. Let's put it this way, they frown heavily on going twice the posted speed. She said "obviously your car can handle the speed". To which I replied "yeah, I was only in 2nd gear". She just shook her head. It is not a wreckless ticket and it is a federal but probably not on my record. Its a revenue thing. $130 plus $25 court cost. A lot better than it could have been. SHe was very forgiving if you know what I mean.

Not too bad a fine for twice the limit though. Just don't end up in Alcatraz or San Quentin .
Bob, you got off easy on the fine for that speed. If it was on 211 at that speed and ticketed by a VA trooper it would have been reckless driving. Some of us are known to exceed even 77 on 211.

Don't ask me how I know.
I know, I know. If that was on any other road I would have been in jail. I think it was probably an NSX that was exceeding 77, right? We Corvette people don't get too carried away

We Corvette owners don't drive like that. Not that YOU know anyway.
I've been pushing my luck and think I personally need to tone it down. Someone else would agree with me.
Repeat 100 times. "I will not lead others into speeding temptation"
yeah, but if you're like me, I start out saying that and driving that way, but then it's like "oh c'mon already....if you're scared to be in front get the "H" out of the way!" and away I go!...... one of these days, I'll be scrawed.........:o

I know that feeling. I started out on a nice SEDATE ride home all by myself. Unitl I got behind someone going a little slow for me. There went that plan. It was just my turn. I know I wasn't the fastest out of the gate, just the unluckiest. We'll see if I can avoid that next April. And like you Chuck, I'll follow. The seat belt ticket from 4/18 in Texas which will cost $137 Plus this one is putting a crimp in my track time budget. Don't these folks realize I need tires and brakes to go to Putnam Park?

I've been dinged by the Park Rangers before so I cool it in Park territory during these cruises. I'm probably the only one who has gotten a speeding ticket for making noise in the tunnel, done on a Labor Day weekend. They have been nice enough to not target us there during the cruises.
