Re: Jacksonville? (1964Redrider)
There are a bunch of us here in the Jax area. We've had a bunch of get-togethers at the local cruise-ins. I'm also in the Jax Corvette Club. We're doing a caravan to Ecklers on Oct 20......will post details 2 weeks prior. I asssume you bought a 64? What part of town are you in?
I live off of Hodges Boulevard. Where are you and what is a local cruise-in. My first car ever was a 1971 t-top back in 1983. This is my second corvette and I'm glad to be a vette owner again. Obviously I have been out of the loop for quite some time. A friend of mine had the car for the last 10 years and only put 8k miles on it. I have been trying to buy it off of him for the last 5 years. He finally caved in and I bought it last week. 1964 red covertible, original engine (rebuilt), 327/365, four speed. It runs perfect and is in really good shape. I'm in heaven. I get home every nite from work and hop in to cruise. Looking for other enthusiast so I have an ear to chew on and can learn more about my car. The forum has been great for that too. I plan to go to the event in October and will look for the details prior. How many cars from Jax go in the caravan?
Hi Redrider and welcome back to the Corvette world!
Check out http://www.carcouncil.org for local info.
I live at JAX Beach - not to far from you, and drive a 1998 Triple Black.
Would love to get a look at your 64 - it sounds like you have really picked a sweet one.

Wow, sounds like a very nice 64. Congratulations. Jax Corvette Club is http://www.jaxcc.net I've got about 9 Vettes in the caravan so far and expect a bunch more. The car council site has the info on the cruise-ins and the local shows. :seeya
Lisa, welcome. Just got my first 'Vette two weeks ago. I'm in heaven. It's my daily driver, so now I even look foreward to going to work. Cruse-In this weekend is at Hooters at the Beachs.
Yes, I believe so. That's on the 20th, right. What is it like to go to that? I'm also going to the Octobervettes on the 12-13th if I can make it.
I just got my car last week so I haven't been to a cruise-in. New to the forum as well. I'll be mountain biking in Ocala early Saturday morning and will try and make it back but we'll have to see how it goes. That would definitely be a long day. I'll try.
