Mark,

Just a thought ... but after having attended the Poker Run in Greenville, I was really impressed with some of the roads around there. Perhaps a caravan up 85 & meet in or around Greenville, tour some of the back roads in that area (maybe some help from Sully et al) & wind our way northward for additional scenery. Those w/Sunday committments could still get home late Sat night & those w/Saturday committments could leave early on Sunday for the last leg. And any who wanted to make it a 2 day affair could do so. Not the greatest of plans, but at least a thought.

George, those are some great roads over around Greenville. I got a copy of the route from the last poker run and posted it here on the Forum. I'm not positive, but I think Sully copied it to his website.

Having said that, however, Greenville is far enough away from us that if we are going to participate (we'd certainly like to), it's a pretty long haul from the Heart of Dixie.

As I recall there also are some pretty good twisties in North GA -- a day trip for most of the Hot-Lanta folks and a pretty easy overnighter for folks coming from my direction or your direction.

I won't ever forget Suzanne introducing the Bigtoe family when we were eating at Crippins in N.C. last year. She introduced everyone and said "We have the whole foot here tonight!" LMAO!

I'm glad to see all of you posting on here.

Ach! No caber-tossing for me. But they have all the band competitions on Saturday. I'll be wearing a drum and hanging around with a bunch of rowdy bagpipers.

That sounds good, too!

Just don't make it too far away for the Green Machine ~ otherwise I might have to drop an LT1 in to match those killer wheels :D

Seriously, tho ... I visit my '94 every day and yesterday I saw a car with nearly everything assembled. They should start painting next week ~ might be ready by weekend, but I'll be in Nebraska. It will just be something nice to return home to.

I've narrowed it down to dates that seem to work for most folks, me included. Let's try and set this up for the weekend of October 13/14. That should pretty much be peak colors, or getting there anyway, in the mountain country.

Who wants to commit to that weekend, and let's get vote going for Saturday versus Sunday? We could always schedule a Saturday trip with a Sunday rain date too.

Let's hear from the crowd

Assuming our car is ready, we can make that weekend.

Saturday Oct 13 sounds good to me! If it's moved to Sunday I could drive a little bit in the morning but I'd have to be back home around 1:00.

Oct 13/14 looks good here. I will be unable to leave Waynesboro until Sat morning so if we go on Sat, please try to set up a checkpoint that we can make or start the cruise just a little later than sunrise. We don't mind starting out real early but I hate playing catchup all day long.

And Sully ... hurry up & get your car or else change your signature. Maybe you could go radical & getting something to seriously challenge the "Green Machine"
