Anyone looking or a auto body repair shop in the northern Virginia area do not goto the Corvette Specialists. After a simple repair of my rocker panel I had to pay 1,000 dollars to have the clear coat wet sanded after some moron at the shop washed and was my car with somthing to the equivelant to sandpaper. They also got over spray all over my chrome wheels and scratched the h$ll out o my passenger side mirror. This place is located in Alexandria. Please avoid at all costs. Please pass the word.

The end result was fine. The guy that fixed my car hs 37 years of Corvettte experience. He does restorations and show cars....Corvettes only. He is the guy I should of went to in the first place. My bad but I learned.

I am glad it was was all fixed. Young, cheap labor comes at a price. Yesterday I bought a minivan for my business. I waited for the car to come out of the prep. shop. I learned that a "new kid" ran the van into another brand new SUV. Messed up to cars.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Can you say who finally fixed your car?

Thanks to the milling and re-paving on the Dulles Toll Road, I need to get the nose of mine re-painted.

Sorry for the delay oldnewbie. I went to a man named John Herold. He is know on the forum. I can't even begin to tell you how good he is at what he does. He is located about 30 minutes from Leesburg in WV. He is the only guy you will ever have to know as long as you own a Vette. If you are interested in talking to him, e-mail me and I can send you his contract information.

This isn't the first time I've heard warnings such as these about this particular shop. I've stayed away from them and it looks like others should too.

Add East Coast Refinishing and Fiberglass to the list of auto body shops to avoid. I had a bad experience there, concerning mismatched paint, overspray, and someone there who got my new rear cargo mat dirty.

I had a great experience at Stingray's in Purcellville for paint work.

Yes, John owned Stingrays but sold it to follow his passion of Corvette restorations and show cars. Mark, the guy that painted lilRedCorvette94's car did my work at John's. Together, they do unbelievable work. These are the only two guys you will ever need to know as long as you own a Vette.

Also, thanks lilRedCrovette94 for introducing me to Mark.

To answer your question Grumpy, they wanted to fix it and based on everything that happened.....NOT A CHANCE! They are terrible. Even the paint job the manager said to have done perectly himself was screwed up. The Corvette Specialists in Alexandria can do nothing right, trust me. AVOID THIS PLACE!
