What a way to end a great weekend. Had a great time riding up with a few new Vette friends to Eckler's Corvette Reunion; my first time . Then the following day I had a big fender bender while coming home from Pembroke Lakes mall. The other driver didn't see the red light and plowed right into me as I was making a left turn. We're OK, but my driver's front end is wrecked .
Now I need a Vette collision expert. I'm thinking of going to Gus Ferrers at Custom Auto in Miramar to get it fixed since it's close by my house, and recommended by Pedro (Tripleblack51). Not sure I want to take it to Maroone Pines dealership for the repairs.
Anyone else have a recommendation for a collision shop around north Dade or south Broward area?

If Pedro recommended it, I would give that place consideration.
If you would like another recommendation, you can try The Body Spot in Pompano Beach.

I've sent a few other forum members there. He does nice work.
You can tell him you were directed to him by a friend of Steve Barker.
If I were you, I'd like to have it repaired as close to home as possible.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune, and hope it gets fixed soon.
Just had my Vette picked up today. Sent it to Ft Lauderdale to a shop that has done work on my Vette and my son's Evo over the last couple years. First class perfect very high end. Tore the side off my car and on the EVO the only thing not dented was the roof. (Evo has an ALUMINUM NOSE) needless to say you can't tell anything anywhere. My cars go nowhere else. There is a wait to get in but well worth it. Oh yeah he's a Corvette owner. For the record I have no affiliation with him short of repairing multiple cars for me. PM if you want the info.

Thanks Alan for the recommendation. Althought at this time Pompano Beach would be a bit far for me; unless they're the best in the region. The place I would take it to is Burkes Corvettes in Maitland, FL; but talk about distance .

Thanks PopaZ, It hurts, but it appears to be repairable. I'm just worried about getting a qualified collision expert that knows how to deal with a Millenium Yellow paint job. Anyone know of any?

I hope your insurance adjuster is better than what they sent to look at my car. Body shop estimate 10K Insurance offered to pay 2K
WOW that's a big difference from estimate to cost of actual repairs. So where will the difference come from? State Farm said the Maroone Pines dealership in my neighborhood is in their network, so I had them tow it in Monday to get my estimate done. Still wondering if it's better to have the dealership or an independant shop do the actual repairs.

That's exactly what the insurance company said. My insurance company should have looked at it again yesterday or today. The woman that hit me, her insurance called me today and said they will be there today or tomorrow at the latest. I hope to have something POSITIVE happening by the end of this week. As for your shop choice, dealer work means nothing. If you find a shop that does good work, that's where you want to go. If the dealer does good work, that's fine as well. The shop that has my car does extremely good work, typically they charge 3x the going rate, but in my case it's well worth the money.
