I watched it from my backyard as well...giant orange flame shooting out the back and lighting up the sky...I clearly saw the separation of the boosters and all that good stuff...as it got farther away it looked like a very bright star scootin' like crazy...very cool night launch!

I watched it go up from the side of the road on 528 about 8 miles from the pad. That was awsome! I got to see the entire launch and even hear it as it went up.

I'm out at KSC on business right now, got to watch the launch from the parking lot next to the vehicle assembly building/firing control center.
It was amazing to see. This was the first launch I've been able to see in person, and it was a night launch at that!
