Default Modded 94 needs dynotune... BAD

This is a repost of my original that I had put in a different section

Hey guys, this is my first post. I come here from corvetteforums.com. They are a much smaller site which is good in some cases but not when you need to find someone that can help you out and is close to you.

So, on with the question. I had my 94 LT1 rebuilt over the summer. The person that did it was a less than reputable character and I wasnt aware of this until after the fact. I had the block bored thirty over, new cam, rebuilt heads with 2.02 valves, heads were port/polished, new Hooker short-tube super-comp headers (i shouldve gone long), and 30# injectors, new MAF sensor (granitelli), melling high volume oil pump (i think thats what its called.. haha), and new plugs and wires. I think that is about it. I also had them do some transmission work (automatic) but that is another story.

Well, the guy TOLD me that when the work was done that i should come back at so many miles and have him re-tighten the headers and check the valves to make sure they were ok. He also told me to come back at so many more miles so that he could take it to a Dyno shop to get it tuned and everything. Well he TOLD me that all of that was included, but didnt write it on the receipt and so when i went back he wanted to charge me and i told him that he said it was all included. He then informed me that it was left off of my receipt because it wasnt included when i distinctly remember him saying it was.

So, my perdicament is that i am not going to take the car back to him because i personally dont think he can tell his elbow from his @$$ and i dont want him touching my car ever again. And so i still need the car dynotuned and i was told i could find someone on here that is really good. I live in Virginia Beach, VA. If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

Sincerely,
Matt

P.S. - I got my car back in August so all of that work was done and i have been riding around in my car for a few thousand miles without the tune. Is there anything that i may have fouled up by doing this? Thanks again!!

Well first, there is a thread on here started by Bluewasp about getting a group dyno tuning session going. Latest I knew there were two people in your area, and you being the third could get Jeff Creech to come to the Norfolk area in January or so.

Second, I had a ported heads/cam job done on my 94, then headers and custom exhaust added. My first trip to a dyno tuner showed the PCM was pretty much handling the tune, as confirmed by a session with wide band sensors for A/F. The 94 with PCM was the first year that is fairly tolerant of mod changes, so you probably haven't done any harm in driving it.

I had my car tuned by Jeff Creech and I'm happy with it. Try to get together with the guys wanting a Jeff tune locally.

Thank you very much! I really do appreciate the quickness of the responses around here. At the other forums I came from, it might take days for someone to reply with any knowledgable information! I already left them a reply to that thread and hopefully we can get something going here!

If its got 30# injectors that at least should have been changed in the program right away. Riding around with the computer set at 24# inj and with 30s, it is definately going to have problems with the fuel control. Probably running rich and at its limits as far as being able to pull fuel to correct. If your car was built locally I'm sure I got a phone call at some point about tuning it. I prolly know who (what shop) built it. We do ALOT of LT1 and LS1 stuff. Got a shop full of cool rides. 396 LT1 stroker with Trick Flow heads and solid roller, 01 TA we are building with a 402 alum LS2, Dana 60 rear, all BMR susp. 408 Dakota RT with a supercharger and ACCEL DFI. 67 Mustang with a blown 427 and FAST EFI. PM me if I can help in some way.

Wow, sounds like the guy or shop is trying to pull a fast one on you. Jeff Creech is definitely the guy a lot of people go to but I am sure you can find someone around here that can do a great job as well. But Bluewasp is looking for one more car to bring Jeff up here so I would jump on that wagon.
Jeff did I great job on my Z06 so I can tell you from experience that he is top notch.

I am in Va Beach as well. Feel free you PM me if you have any more questions.

How about a turbo LS1 car, 842 RWHP?
Or a AC Cobra (replica, of course) with a 2x4 bbl 427?
Or a LS2 402?
PM for details.
