I'm ready for new tires and am looking for a good shop in upstate SC.
I am located in Spartanburg. I have read all the tire shop horror stories and need to know which shop in my area does the best job.
Welborn Tire in Anderson, there about a half mile off clemson blvd. They were less exspensive than tirerack.com, and they did great work in a timely manner. I work for Piedmont Honda which is about a mile down the road from them, and everybody at my dealership told me they were to best. In fact there so good that when the owner of the honda store went to get new wheels on his viper he had Welborn do it. I highly recommend them!
RE: Bolton & James...
I see they don't carry Goodyear. Do any of their fans know if
they do "put on" work, eg tires dragged in by customer?
Fwiw, there are a couple TD's in the Greenville area, but other
than generally very competitive pricing, I have no exp. with
their mounting/balancing skills.
Thanks, David
I've used Smith-Davidson Goodyear on Woodruff Rd. They actively let me be involved in what was going on with my car (watch and participate). They were very careful and I will use them again.
I used the Dicount Tire regional office here in Charlotte, best prices, latest machines and good service. Also was able to get me the GSD3's that no one else could find.
Thanks for the replies. I will schedule an appointment with Bolton James in the next few weeks. One more question:
I just received new TPS and new nuts from Gene Culley. I see an O ring on the TPS but what seals the TPS to the wheel on the outside? Just the pressure from the nut? Please help, these are the first TPS I have ever seen and not sure how they mount.
