NC Folks
Here's a copy of the bill:

I can't think of anyhing that looks worse on the front of a Corvette...especially a C6, than a damn front license plate. If you want this killed as bad as I do, then you need to ACT and act NOW. Let these guys hear from you long and loud that we don't need front plates in NC for the following reasons:
1) It would cost the taxpayers millions to implement.....think of the millions of cars and pickups registered in this state and how much it will cost to print and distribute extra plates for all of them.
2) Your registration fees will have to go up to cover the costs
3) Many of our cars (not just vettes) were never ordered with front plates, so citizens will have to spend millions of dollars to buy mounting equipment....if it's a business, that costs eventually gets passed on to their customers
4) Owners of older cars may not be able to easily obtain original mounting equipment as it is no longer made.
WE NEED TO KILL THIS ONE FOLKS! Contact your representatives NOW!

This can't be to help law enforcement or even a concerned citizen with identifying a car involved in a crime. If it is then why does our state now allow all these multicolored plates where you have to look for the name North Carolina to see where the darn car is from.
If they need the money why did they lower the sales tax in December from 7% to 6.75%??
Don't get me started....opps too late.
happy trails

Thank you for your email and for weighing in on the dual license plate issue. I filed SB 673 because law enforcement backed it and felt that it would have significant benefits in terms of public safety. In receiving the fiscal impact statement this week, I do not feel that the potential benefits are worth the cost of implementation -- an argument many individuals who wrote to me made as well. For this reason, I am not pursuing the bill. NC will remain a single tag state. Thanks for your active involvement.
