So if I go out and buy a new toy this weekend (Vararam) who would you guys suggest be a good place to have it installed. I saw the instructions online, and i just don't trust myself enough to do it.
Don't want to rain on your parade but several have posted bad things about Vararam. Search C6 Gen, Drag, and C6 Performance. One dissenting thread was only 2-3 days ago.
Thanks JT...I think it was the C6 version they had a problem with. From what I have read there were more good things said then bad for the C5 version. But if anyone knows of something I missed let me know.
Joe, all I have ever heard was that you need screens so you don't suck-up leaves ect. also I believe a little trimming needs to be done for the install (not sure what needs to be trimmed). As for install I like Zips but they are not open on Sat-Sun.
Yeah, I read the story about someone sucking up a bird .
I am planning on ordering it tonight. From the instructions it only looks like a 2 hour job, and pretty easy, I am just not the most mechanically inclined.
If worse comes to worse, I am off July 4 - 8, I might give zip a call and see if they can squeeze me in on that Friday if they are open.
I am sure Greg K on here as roadrace65 or Ed @ http://www.hpracecraft.com/index.html can do it.
I have them in the 97' & vert..........no water/road trash issues here & I have been through many a heavy rain storms
I bet if your provided a little food and drink you could host a mod party and get a couple of the guys to help you get it installed yourself.
Maybe if I provided enough food and drinkage, I could host a mod party and let someone mechanically inclined do it while I play tool monkey.
After shattering my windshield on my C4 trying to change my wiper arm, and destroying my seat trying to change a MAF sensor, I don't get very close to my C5 with tools.
BTW, three hours have passed since I ordered and still no FedEx...LOL
I have a call (Thurs afternoon) and an email (this morning) in to Steve's place in Chesapeake since they are close and can install and tune. But if I don't here from them by Tuesday, I am gonna offer up some grub, and drinks to anyone who is willing to help me out.

Anyway Ed is a good guty. He does good work and you can trust him. He works hsi *** off too!!1 He is out of tonw and country (minivan joke...) for a little bit, but talk to him when he gets here. If he cant fit you in, we can have a party with drinks and food and lots of goodC orvette times!

Ed contacted me last night and as long as he can fit me in, I will be using him. He gave me a quote of (which I think is) a great price to do the install, and I have read and heard a lot of great things about his shop.
Of course, anytime we wanna get a mod party goin on in the area, let me know. I will see if I can hi-jack my folks house since they have a driveway that will fit 6 cars, and all the tools.

OK, the wiper arm/windshield I can understand, but help me out on the other one. I've never had a C-4, is the seat under the hood, or is the MAF sensor under the seat?

Ok...I was installing yet ANOTHER MAF sensor on my C4 (thanks the good lord for creating lifetime warranties) and I placed the screwdriver in my back pocket blade side up. Got in the car, started it up, got out, closed the hood, got back in and took it for a spin. I could not figure out why the seat just didn't feel right so I kept squirming and repositioning myself trying to get comfortable. When I got out and went to shut my door I noticed my seat was torn to shreds thats when I FINALLY remember about the screwdriver.
