Howdy neighbor I'm right across the river from you in North Augusta.

There is a local vette club, Casual Corvettes, but I'm not a member.

If you golf there's plenty to do.....

The 1/4 mile track in Jackson is always entertaining on the weekend.

The only person I trust is ME So far I've done everything myself in the driveway except mount tires and alignments, and for that it's the Firestone place on Broad St.

If I had to take it to a local dealer for warranty work my first choice would be the one on Gordon Hwy, then Edgefield, then Aiken, then somewhere in Columbia, then somewhere in Atlanta, then maybe, if I was really in a pinch, just maybe I'd go to the place on Washington Rd.

Welcome to Augusta! We've been here about two years and I generally do the work on my Vette also. I hosted a couple of Mod Days a while back just as an excuse to get together and do a little wrenching. When I do need to take it to a shop I've used Butler Automotive in Martinez.

As far as staying cool. We like to head out to the Thurmond lake. It's about a 20 minute drive and pretty nice. It's a straight shot down Fury's Ferry or Washington Rd.

I've never run mine, and don't really plan to since it's my only car.

They've held all vette bracket races there as part of the Carolina Corvette Challenge series, but I don't think they have any scheduled to be in Jackson any time soon.

I cruise down with the Charleston folks for this and make a couple of passes. Nice track, very well prepped and you will see some 10 second cars out there.

If you need ideas on places to go or eat or things to do other than pertaining to Corvettes, PM me.

We moved it to Darlington for this year. Takes 1.5 hours to get up there from Augusta (I think as it has been a few months). Nice track, very fast but I do not know if it hooks like Jackson. Next race is in the fall when it cools off a bit. Maybe we could all carivan up????
Dave

The Casual Corvettes club meet the first Thursday and third Saturday of each month. This time of year we do Sonics on the first Thursday and cruise to some place to eat on the third Saturday. We have a pretty diverse group that like to do everything from car shows to road racing to drag racing. We do cruise-ins like at Greensboro, Washington and Elberton, GA. In the fall we like to got to the AMS to run the oval with Corvettes against cancer. You are only limited by your time.

Check out our website at www.casualcorvettes.com for the location of our next Sonic cruise-in. See Dennis our Wing Man to join .
