Jenro's is just a show that happens every Saturday when the weather is nice. It starts at about 3pm and goes until about 7 or 8. It is located at the Jenro's in Haygood Shopping Center.
Bass Pro is in Hampton at the Bass Pro Shops there. I have never been, but I have heard that it doesnt start until 7ish.
Jenro's is prety entertaining to go to every once in a while, but it is mostly the same cars every week. Someday I will make it out to Bass Pro and rate it for myself.
Bass pro has been blowing jenro's out of the water lately. Havent really seen too many ricers out there. (scratches head) Things pick up around 5-7. I'm sure if you roll in late you will see some. A group of us got tired of going to jenros and having the people doing burnouts and ripping across the lot. That is especially annoying when you're on two wheels...
Jenro's is in Virginia Beach off of Independence Blvd (in the Haygood Shopping Center) Usually starts around 3:00 and has a pretty good turn out. You do see some of the same people all the time, but it is a cruise-in and those always have their regulars...but thats what it is about, getting out there and hanging out with car people. As per the burnouts and ripping across the lot, I have yet to see any of that, just some engine reving from parked vehicles showing off their sound.
Bass Pro Shops is in Hampton off of Power Plant Parkway (I THINK it is Parkway). I have only been there once but I was not too impressed. When we got there about 8pmish there were two other Vettes there, three Camaros, a hand full of bikes and a ton of ricers and lowrider type trucks. Went and walked around the store for about 20 minutes and came back more bikes, more imports, same Vettes & Camaros. We walked across the street to grab some dinner, got out around 10pm, our Vettes were the only ones left, but there was a generous supply of Uncle Bens.
I should give Bass another shot, but like the old saying goes, first impressions are lasting ones. Living a 10 minute walk from the beach, personally I think Bass was not worth my time for the travel hassle to the peninsula when Jenro's is right around the corner, but I guess some guys over there feel the same way about Jenro's. You'll have to try them out for yourself.
I have taken my Superbee and GTX to Jenros a few times but never had the Vette out there. I have never really seen anyone doing burn outs just a few squirrels gunning it when they get out on Independence. Does seem to be the same folks out there and usually very few Mopars. Never been to the Hampton thing..usually going through the tunnel on a Saturday is not fun.
Going out to wash the car now. Its gonna take me a few hours lol. I probably wont be at Jenro's for too long, but if you see a POS Black 94 coupe pull up, come up and say hello!
Bahhh, I am STILL working on trying to fix the wireless network at the house, and have not even had a chance to LOOK at my Vette yet today. Hopefully I will be finished soon so I can get out there to at least wash it and pay a visit out to Jenro's
OK, think I will try Jenro's next week when I get back. I am just down the road off Wesleyan so I may not even get the car warmed up heading up there.
Yellow C3 with WA plates.
Jenro's sure was a BUST!! Though I did get to meet Matt (Black94Coupe) and Joe (ZZ4Vetteguy). But Bass Pro was rockin'!! Couldn't even find a parking space at first. Got to meet a bunch of new folks and see some old friends. But after about 1030 the ricers and Dumba$$es take over. I don't know if I'll even bother with Jenro's anymore.

It was good to see you too, Gary. It had been quite a while. The car looks AWESOME!! Hopefully I can get some more free time and see you guys up there again soon.
Jenro's was a little of a bust, not only was there not a lot of Vettes there, there were not a lot of people there period. I would say only about 40 - 50 pecent of the cars that are usually there.
Of course next time I am not parking so close to the front of the lot. The red Z06 next to me left, and by the time I had left at 6pm my Vert was sandwiched in between a F250 and a Corolla.
Edit: It sounds like you had a good time at Bass Pro, maybe I will check it out again when I know there are going to be people from the forum up there, and I don't pull into ricer night.

It seems like when the idiots show up at BPS everyone else leaves. By that time the people who set up the event are gone, and arent there to shove off the idiots.
