Ok, I figure I would start a new threat about this so it would not get lost in our Karting thread.
There will be a show this Saturday from 11am - 3pm honoring the Iraqi Vets and the V A Hospital. There is some information below. I already have a call into Mr. Lewis and as soon as I get more info from him I will post it.
"A WELCOME BACK CELEBRATION DAY FOR THE IRAQI VETS" on Saturday November 3rd at the V A Hospital in Phoebus They would like the cars to come out from 11 am till 3 pm. The event will be held past the nursing home facility. Go past the main front entrance of the hospital facing sea wall and there is a field where every thing will be. It is in a nice area next to the water. It is a fun time for all with lots of music, food etc. I know they would be grateful and love to see the cars. Joe Lewis from the Hampton Veteran's Hospital asks that you contact him at #722-9961 ext.#3051 with confirmation and anything else you would like to know.
I just got off the phone with Mr. Lewis about 5 minutes ago. From what he told me, this is not a show, but a parade. The parade will be the start of festivites/activites that will last from 11 - 3 on the V A property. Although he said is we wanted to, he could make arrangments for our cars to be displayed.
Parade staging will be 9am, and the parade is slated to start at 10am.
As long as the weather permitting, I will still be going out there. I figure sacraficing a few hours of my time is nothing compared to what these men and women have sacraficed.
If anyone has any different information the what I was given, please let us know.
Ouch My car doesn’t like parades. She needs to keep the air moving across the old radiator to keep cool. I will play it by ear and see how she does or may just wait to display.
Thanks for the reminder Wayne.
The link below will take you to their info page with thier address. If you click on either google maps, or mapquest on the right, it will already be set up with their directions, just waiting for you to imput yours. Yahoo did not work for me when I tried it.

Here's a reply one of my club members got when he called Mr Lewis:
"Just got off the phone with Joe Lewis -- Told him that Larry Sigmon and
I will be there and that I would be happy to push for more if he wanted
them. He said that's fine but not to push it further since he has 10 or so
cars coming from the PT Cruisers and several coming from another group that he couldn't remember.
So at this point I'm just going to let my email to the club stand -- and
not reemphasize."
Your group may be the other group he's talking about. I left a message on his phone to call me so I can find out what's really happening. Are you guys meeting up somewhere on the peninsula before going in? I would like to join you if I make it.
Just got off the phone with Mr Lewis. There is no official car show. There is a parade around the Hospital (10 - 11am, line up at 9) and then there will be a place to park your car if you want to stay and enjoy the festivities (everything including food is free). Anyone can go and look at the cars, so you'll be "showing" them, which is where the confusion came about.
I will be there with Ta-taaa taking pictures of the vets with their favorite cars and printing them for them to take with them. So make your cars look real purty form the pictures!!

It was probrably me he was talking about from "the other group" since you and ta-taa mentioned you were going, I told Mr. Lewis there would be between 3 and 8 Vettes that would show up depending on the weather. I am not too familiar with the Phoebus area so I can not really reccomend a place that we could all meet up before hand.
If any of your want to meet up before hand and know a good place to meet, just let me know and I will see you there.

A good place to meet is the Hardees across the bridge from the VA Hospital. Coming from the Southside, I believe it is the first exit (#268) after the tunnel, the same exit for the VA Hospital. You go under the bridge to the exit and loop back to the light. When you come to the light, turn left and you will see the Hardees (turn right for the hospital). We get there early enough and we can have breakfast before the parade. What do you think?

Hardees southern sweet tea first think in the morning.
Might see yous guys there, depends on the date with Norma
PS, do they have a specific place/bldg for us to meet on the grounds at 9?
NORMA???? I am going to have to start a spread sheet to keep up with all these women.
Mr. Lewis just told me to look for the rest of the parade staging when I got there. Didn't really say where. I am sure there will be a nice armed guard or seven to tell us where to go.
