Default VA Rat Pack - Rat Pack at the Range?

I know of a few members in the Rat Pack who have some nice guns. I just picked up a new one and was thinking of setting up a Rat Pack At The Range day. The only catch is me and a few other members are under 21 and can not get into some ranges. I know that A&P in VA beach will let 18 and older in, and I have 5 free passes for there I can give out to the first 5 people to show or something. Who all would be interested and does anyone know of a range that will accommodate us that is more centralized? What is a good date for people? I will pick the date the best suits the majority of the people bringing guns.

Also, if you do not have any guns then you are still welcome to come. I will let you shoot all of mine and I am sure some of the other members would too. If you can come and have guns, post up what you would be willing to bring to get some more people interested

NEF 12g
I don't think a range will let anyone bring in shotguns though

Savage Bolt Action .22
Just your average .22

1973 Yugoslovian SKS M59/66
It has a 22mm Gernade Launcher but something tells me that they wouldn't let us use that And it shoots a regular 7.62x39 round. Decent kick, lots of noise, and is fairly accurate

1928 Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30
I haven't had a chance to shoot this one yet, but it was a sniper rifle for Russia and a few other countries in the past, so I assume it is accurate. And with a 7.62x54R round it will have a real good kick.

I'm in! If you can find an outdoor range they might allow shotguns for trap/skeet shooting. There's one up here like that but the catch is you have to buy their ammo and their prices are usually a good bit higher, but it is free range use.

If we shoot shotguns I have a mossberg o/u silver reserve and 12ga. nova pump.

I also have an ar15 (.223 round), a Romanian WASR10 (basically an ak47) converted to accept 30rnd. mags (7.62x39), and I'm waiting on a kel-tec sub 2k in 9mm.

Good point... I will look for an outdoor range. I think there is one about 30-45 minutes from here somewhat centered for the rat pack

I am a member at A&P and know Tom the GM very well. I am pretty sure I could get us a section just for us. Hell I have bought 10 handguns from A&P in the last 4 months plus a SIG 556 and Mossberg pistol grip. Oh and A&P will allow shotguns. If we can set a date and give me the number of people I will talk to Tom about something. If he won't do anything for us I have a crap load of free passes so that will not be an issue.

Very . I have bought my two large rifles from the A&P in hampton and I haven't been to the range to see what they allow. But it would be great to do shotguns too. By chance, do you know much ammo they stock? If we go there should we bring some or get it there? I am sure it would be warmer to do it indoors this time of year so A&P is looking like the best bet. What is a good date for everyone? Say the 26th of this month?

Were you up there Saturday afternoon shooting? (Lynnhaven Indoor Range) I stopped by to drop something off for my father and there was a blue Z06 out there.

BTW John, I do know the Lynnhaven store here will allow shotguns.

I am interested, but when we set something up for definite I will be able to let you know for sure....SOOOOO much I want to do, so little money.

Sweet. Well I know I'm in whenever works for you all (as long as it's either a Saturday or a Sunday).

The one good thing about this Durango is it makes it easy to haul all my guns.... though I don't have that many.......................... yet.

Lucky, I am not sure if I can fit the mosin in the Vette... the SKS reached from side to side and the mosin is a few inches longer.

I know the mosin fits in the c5. If you turn it at an angle it should go no problem.

Doug, we could set this up as a St. Jude's thing....Shells for St Jude's. Not really sure how yet, but I will think about it tomorrow.

Maybe have everyone donate 10 cents for every shell they shoot....fifty shells if $5.00, that and/or a 50/50 shooting competition. Cost you so much to enter, then give everyone say 10 shots (preferably with the same gun to make it fair) and the person with the best score wins half the pot, and the other half goes to St Judes...

I will tinker with it some more if you all are interested

I vote we do it with target loads/bird shot at 50 yards.

I have got a .50 Cal, M16 and 9 Mil, but I think work would probably have an issue if I borrowed them for the weekend I am not much of a gun guy but maybe after you set it all up I may be in.

Hey Brian, I'll fold down the back two rows of seats so it'll fit and we can just "borrow" the fifty for a couple hours. We'll have it back in no time.

Oh yea....... 4 stars biotches.

Only 9k more posts to go.
