Virginia Inspection Question
Relating to the post below, does VA inspect your tires as part of a regular inspection? Or is it unless they see something out of the ordinary.
This mechanic tried to charge my sister $177 for one tire!!!

And at that point they figure they have you because most folks don't want to deal with a rejection and going back for a reinspection. Just let them put a rejection sticker on, replace the tire or tires at a reasonable cost and take it back and let them pass it.

We figured that into the equation as I told my sister as much as I hate the fact that the guy was either wrong/or tried to rip her off, you have to factor in the "inconvenience" factor. All said in done, she was able to get it about $40 cheaper elsewhere and it only cost $1 to reinspect the car as long as its within 15 days.
Now I have some idiot arguing with me trying to compare tire pricing to medical costs....jeez
