VIR Karting Enduro
Leec4ce and I ran the karting enduro at Virginia International Raceway's Plantation Valley Kart Track last Saturday. Despite having never been on the track or in the karts before we managed a sixth place finish out of 12 teams. We were 7 laps behind the first place team after 90 minutes of racing. What is even more encouraging is that we were only 2 laps behind the third place team.
We really need to put together a group for a track rental. This is much more fun than the indoor tracks that we have been going to. You can actually race on this track and you achieve much higher speeds in the more powerful karts. In fact if you aren't careful you can easily do a head on into a tire wall. It is also much less expensive to race there. Lee and I ran 30-40 minutes straight prior to the enduro for $40 and the enduro itself was only $105 to enter. I will be at the next enduro ready to race again.
