I moved from the Chicago area about a year ago and would like to join with a club of local corvette owners. I am local to the Fredericksburg, VA area, and would like some suggestions on a local club to do cruises, charities, and other like events with. An suggestions would be great as I have never joined a club and thought it would be fun to cruise and meet other corvette owners.
My club (Northern Virginia Corvette Club) is based not too far from you. We do many cruises, shows, rallyes, parades and social events, there is something going on just about every weekend. We support many charities such as Special Olympics, American Cancer Society, and an ongoing project sending care packages to soldiers in the middle east. One of our civic activities is organizing and holding our annual Teen Driving School, where we teach accident avoidance to new drivers.
If you have a need for speed, we also have autocross, track events, and drag racing to fulfill it.
Unfortunately there is not a club in Fredericksburg itself. However there a few of us from the Fredericksburg that are trying to get something put together. It would be great if you could come out and join us for a cruise. If you watch this section of the Forum you will see events that we put together. We have a cruise from Fredericksburg to Colonial Beach scheduled for April 19th. Here is a link to the post for that cruise.
The nearest existing club to Fredericksburg is Aquia Creek. I never see any posts for their club or their events here on the forum. Here is a link to their website.
I agree it would be nice to have a Fredericksburg club. I will keep my eyes open here and have to join everyone in a local cruise. I wish I could do the 19th but I have to be at work. I don't work the normal Mon-Fri 9-5 job so my schedule limits me sometimes.
Two actually, but the larger of the two meets on Friday evenings and half of the meetings are on the southside of town which is about 1.5 hr one way. It would be nice to have something local so we don't have to travel at least 2 hours round trip just to get to the meeting points.
