Hey guys, sorry I have been out of the mix. For those of you who don't know, I was let go from my job in VA and moved back up to NJ to find a new one.
But on to the real reason why I post. I just found out from Scott, another one of our Corvette brotheran that Sonny (SonnyinVA) got into a motorcycle accident yesterday. I had grown pretty close to Sonny while down in VA and as most of you know he is one hell of a nice guy. Stayed at his place often when I was travelling down in that area. I just left a message for his wife to call me and I am thinking of heading down that way to visit this weekend. Apprently he broke a wrist, his ankles, but worse yet has some internal injuries around his intestines. I'll keep you all updated as I hear anything, but keep him in your thoughts.

Not again!
Sonny and I spoke for a while at the Vette Barn last month about his C5 and racing his C4. He offered a room at his place that night if I didn't want to make the drive back to NoVA from Suffolk.

He'll pull through!
Yeah, he is a quality guy. I think he knows the bike is gone now. Lisa (his wife) won't go through this again. Trust me, I'll be telling him the same thing. Probably tell him to think about the C4 too. He still can keep the C5 and have plenty of fun.
Just spoke to Lisa. Broken wrist and ankle. Had surgery last night to remove some of his intestines. Will most likely be in the hospital for 7 to 10 days in recovery. I am looking to go down this weekend to visit.

I'd have to agree, the bike has to go; but the C4 can stay. I'm overseas for a few more weeks, but if I could pop down there I would. Tell him I said hi.

Damn, it's hard to believe that it happened again. I agree that this will most likely end his biking days. If you see him Charlie tell him that we are thinking of him.

I just saw the thread, have a meeting in 5 mins and don't have time to read, so I will follow it when I get home. If anyone finds anything out, keep up informed.

Yeah he was in a similar wreck a couple of years ago, but much worse. Apparently a car in front of him came to too quick of a stop and he hit it from behind.
I talked to his wife briefly on the way to the hospital and got more info from another freind.
From: Hampton, VA Yea, i'm a redneck... but you love it

Charlie, if you come down to see him, let me know. I would like to stop by too. My number is 7577193240. He is one of the best guys on this forum(or anywhere for that matter)
Sorry to hear this. Spent some time talking to Sonny and Scott at Waterside. Figured they would be up this weekend for the event at Richmond Dragway. Praying for a speedy and successful recovery.
Charlie, and info on what hospital he is at, room number and such? If he is well enough for people to at least drop by for a quick visit to wish him a speedy recovery?
Maybe even passing on some info so we can send his cards or something.
Norfolk General. I still don't have a room number though...probably still in ICU. I may wait a week to come down and visit as it'd be a bummer to drive 4 hours to only be able to see him for an hour or so. Makes more sense to come down once he gets out to hang with him. Scott told me that he did answer his phone late yesterday but was pretty groggy. I'll probably call later.

Thanks Charlie. If you talk to him today, tell him he is in my thoughts, and I will be at Richmond tomorrow, and my best run will be for him.
