From: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Interesting. How would you work it? Like a club? Pay dues for overhead and maybe a little extra for lift time? I agree with Chris that it would be important to come up with an equitable method for sharing the lift.
There would also have to be a loft with a pool table, dart boards, and bar. Oh, and a pull-out couch.
Just an FYI, this is totally independent of CCA...
Just a cool place to hang out...
I did this in the past and it was pretty cool and easy to manage.
I think we paid $800 a year in dues to cover the rent and electricity.
How we did it was to get 15 guys, (it was really 5 or 7 guys, each with a friend or 2) together. Once everyone signed up we had a meeting to pay dues and make basic rules and reg.
Everyone pitched in something...one guy had a compressor, one guy a fridge, one guy a tired old couch...ect. By the time we were done, we had a fully decked out pad...
Everyone got 1 key. We put a calender up, and everyone was pretty good about picking a time to have their car up on the lift.
Rules were pretty simple... No commercial usage...no one allowed with out a key holder (key holder must be present) ...clean up after yourself, car parts/fluids/tools...leave more beverage than was there when you got there...
Simple majority rules for any major deciaion...
It works pretty well when you keep it reasonably small
Peace
Chip

locate w/in 5 miles of the heart of FFX City and you might have me on board
Hey Chip, we're looking for a house to buy for my daughters and think we've found on in Dominion Valley. Big selling point for me is that it's got a tall enough garage for a lift...They may see Dad more often then they think.
Chip, just buy me a lift and you can use my tools.
A lift is on my "To Buy" list, hopefully this year!
