Greetings everyone!!!

My first post on this site, so go easy. (Warning Vette Newb)

Ive been reading about “Starting a Fredericksburg Area Club” on several threads and would like to say “The Wife and I are in” when it happens.

A little background on us, I am a “Ford Guy” (Don’t throw wrenches at me). In the spring I sold one of my cars (64 Galaxie XL, Factory Coral color) and was looking for another car to play with and make a few dollars.

One evening as I was surfing the internet for my next toy, my wife said ……….“What about a 70’s Stingray, I’ve always liked them”.

At first I thought No way, then I got to looking into them more, reading about old vettes, and then a couple of months later I came across one I couldn’t turn down.

So we now have a very nice C3 in my garage, and I must say………I think the car is very cool, I just tell myself “its not a Chevy, It’s a Corvette” haha.

Anyway. I would love to see a group form in the Fredericksburg area, If anything, to learn from you guys the “Tricks” to these fun cars or to just get everyone together one weekend evening to show off our cars (Like at Foster’s or Carl’s).

Also, is there anyone in the area planning on going to Carlisle in August? We already have a room booked. We have never been up there for the Corvette show, but have been there for several Fall, Spring, and All Ford Shows. Just wondering if anyone wanted to caravan up.

Hey Darvin,

Welcome to Corvette ownership. I am one of the group that is trying to put a Fredericksburg club together. Right now we are planning most of our events right here on the forum. As we get more active participants we hope to put something more organized together.

I'll be out of town while Carlisle is going on this year but you will have a great time. There will be literally thousands of Corvettes there of every generation. Usually a couple of the guys from the area go up. Hopefully some of them will chime in.

I believe the next event we have scheduled is a gathering at Lake Anna on Sunday, July 13th (see this thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2026506)

Glad to see you left the dark side and came over to us. I am another one with Wayne trying to get more interest in starting a Fredericksburg area group. What year vette did you get? I am one of the few with a C3 vette in our group so I welcome more. I am in the process of doing a frame off but hope to have it back out soon.

let me know if you want to hook up and cruise out to Lake Anna on Sunday, July 13th. I see that you are going.

 

Wayne, the Radley dealership there in F'burg approached Cheryl about starting a club in the area, but she said she didn't want to be the one to get it started.....they are very interested in sponsoring a Corvette club. I'll get the guys name from her for you to contact.

Sure, I live in the Gordon road area (5mile fork). If you want we could meet at the 7-11 on rt3/Gordon road around noon. That would put us down there around 1230 or so. (if I dont get lost, been 20 years since ive been to Lake Anna)

I talked to them about a year ago but they were not sure if they wanted to do that???? I will go and talk to them again.

Looks like I"m going to have to bail, just found out I have to be in Texas again for a couple weeks during that time. Sorry to miss out, looks like its going to be a good showing too.

I will probably go down a little earlier than the rest of you so I can get things set up. I will leave it up to you two to lead the group down to the park. Once you work out the details post up your plans in the Lake Anna thread.
