Default After Langley Get Together

In another post, Tom wrote:

The 19th is a Saturday. My Birthday is the 22nd (following Tue) and I'm going to be 30 I'm right up the road from Langley, and I live one street over from "trunk monkey"...maybe we could have a get together at my house afterwards? (I planned on having a few drinks to celebrate my B-Day anyways) I could cook some food on the grill. I've got a decent size back yard with a pool and horseshoe stakes setup (without the pits).

If anyone is interested let me know.

Oh, and I live in a Cul-de-sac so the vettes will be safe
Which sounds pretty fun, give us a chance to get together, socialize, and help one of our own celebrate his upcoming birthday for his 3rd decade on the planet. I will keep a list of those interested in attending to help Tom out with his planning, and maybe he can elaborate more on how he would like to do this, what we need to bring, etc.

Jay and I might be in but we will have young adults with us 10-17 yr olds if we don't stay too late will it be tame enough for the children. Last year we had a few people that brought kids also not sure if they will again. I do know that reguardless all the kids are boys so we won't have to keep them next to our sides since Doug will be there.

Let me know what I can bring.

My next door neighbor is moving out of state (just found out and I'm pretty bummed) He wants to invite people over to his house for a get together that evening for his going away party. So, it looks like it will be a cul-de-sac party. We did this earlier this year and it turned out great! His father-in law had both of our grills going, and made burgers, dogs, sautéed mushrooms, and B-B-Q. We played horseshoes, poker, beer pong, ect. Everyone got along great. At the last party, my neighbor and I were at the same agreement to only invite people that could have a few drinks and be civil at the same time. I hate drama and didn't want to deal with anyone that was going to be rowdy.

But to answer your question. Yes, children are more than welcome to come. I don't have kids yet, but my neighbor has an 8yr daughter and we have a lot of friends that brought their kids to the last party and they had a blast playing together.

The beer games were later in the evening after the kids were asleep or gone. Playing drinking games around the kids just didn't seem right to me.

Oh, and my neighbor is a hard core Mustang guy that works at Rocket Performance in Yourtown. He and I get along like peas and carrots, but I'm a little nervous about a bunch of Corvette and Mustang guys hanging out together

Default Update

Update:

Between my neighbor and I; we'll be taking care of all the food and sodas. The menu will consist of Burgers, Hot Dogs, sautéed mushrooms, potato salad, and chips. Just bring your own alcohol if you are going to have drinks. Oh, and bring a chair or something to set in.

I know all us Corvette people are responsible when it comes to drinking and driving, so if you have too much to drink, I have plenty of room between a spare room, couch, recliner, ect....you get the idea

Please reply in this thread if you are going to make it, so I can get a head count on how much food to get.

Joe, you’ll have to help me update the names since you started the thread

I feel like I'm forgetting something. I'll update the thread as a can think of stuff. Let me know if you have questions.

I think I speak for most when I say, let us know anything that we can brings, plates, napkins, forks, condiments, sides, or what ever...I was always raised never to show up to a party empty handed.

Thanks for the offer Joe, but we've got it taken care of. We have alot of things left over from the last get together. Besides, we'll (Corvette group) will be at Langley that evening, and the party will have already started.
