Good luck and please post pics and your experience when the work has been complete.
I've been trying to find a detailer in the southern part of VA to correct some paint issues on my car with no luck. I took it to a place down in VA Beach that was recommend from a co-worker to have it buffed and some "minor" swirls removed. Boy was that a mistake! It looks worse than it did before I took it to the guy. To this day, it makes me sick to my stomach when I look at it at a certian angle.

It might just be buffer hologramming. While it does suck, holograms generally are not deep nor hard to remove. Though they look like hell! If you can only see it at certain angles, it might be that vs worse/deeper scratching.
He was at our recent Corvette show in Manassas, VA.
Tell him "Mick from ODCC" sent you.
Thanks, I'll do that. I was at the recent Manassas show as well, I enjoyed it very much. I didn't notice Tony there although I arrived kind of late and spent most of my time checking out all the Vettes.

You think?
I have a PC that I've used several times. I might try and see if I can correct the holograms myself.
I've thought about using the PC on the vette in the past, but I know how hard the clear is, so I figured a PC wouldn't help much.

Well, you've got nothing to lose trying to correct it. If it's deep or the clear is too hard, they'll still be there. And if not, your car will look great.
You can stop by his shop and look at whatever cars he's done that day and judge for yourself. He's got a standard price list but will cut you a break on things like paint sealant or engine cleaning if you do it at the same time (I passed on that on my C4 due to the Opti-Spark).
Let me know if you still need a detailer. I can help you. Myself and business partner have a detail shop and also I have a black vette like yours. Plus it looks like I am close to you, I am off the Prince William Parkway and Hoadly Rd.

This is true. I'm taking vacation next week, and I think I might give it a try.
Are there any shops that can carefully detail the under-hood of a C4? In other words, someone who is familiar with the Optispark and knows how to work around it. No steam cleaning or water dousing, just the old fashioned way.
Right now I do all the detailing myself but I find it is harder to keep up with due to health issues.

Thanks for the reply but I have already set up for one of the other recommended detailers to do it. I will keep your info for next time though in case this one leaves something to be desired. I am actually having one of my other cars done first to see how they do before doing the Vette.

I've been looking for someone to clean up one of my cars... I'm off of minniville and the 234 bypass. Do you make house calls?

You could call Thomas in the link I posted initially and talk to him about it. From what I've seen, he's quite careful.
You probably already know, but I wouldn't expect careful to also be cheap. Just mentioning that since you've got a C4. Us C4 owners obviously don't have any money, or we'd have gotten a C5...

Actually I have 2 C4s...and that is the only generation I care to own, even if I won the state lottery.
I have no problems paying good money for good service. But good money for crappy service, I have a problem with.

Bringing this one back from the dead...
I usually only handwash my C6 but am looking to give it a little better care. I was searching for reviews on detailers in the NoVA area. I found a few recommendations but not much in the way of satisfied customers (or unsatisfied customers, for that matter).
Has anyone used Tony's services at Showroomshinedetail? Or does anyone else have any personal recommendations?
