It was indeed a nice day! We had a blast. We were able to run 5 laps per 6 cars, we ran four 5 lap sessions. We were able to stretch out the little plastic car's legs. The turns were challenging at first anything under 90 and you felt the rear of the car was falling. At 110 in the turns you could drive it with 2 fingers. I have a lot more respect for the NASCAR Drivers now. You do have to pay attention, all the time.

Did a track day at Atlanta Motor Speedway last year and it was a blast. If you had half as much fon as we did it was well worth it, thanks for sharing

Hey Dennis! We are doing it again!
I have the track reserved on July 4th for the full day.
There is only room for 500 to 600 Corvettes, so space is limited
The gates will open at 8:00 AM. I am planning 15 minute sessions starting at 9:00 Am to 12:00 PM. If we have enough interest we will continue on into the afternoon from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The spots are first come - first serve.
Each session will be 10 to 20 cars and last 5 laps. We will start out with 20 car sessions.
There will be safety vehicles pacing the laps at about 90 MPH and you can not pass, but you can still get up to some impressive speeds.
The cost is $35 for the first session and $60 for 2 sessions. You will want a second session as soon as you get on the second lap of the first session!
We will have food and drink available, and hopefully free water for everyone (it is July in Alabama).
I am opening the session up to Mustangs, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, and even import vehicles, but will keep the sessions segregated. I will probably keep the classic Corvettes seperate from the late model Vettes as well.

As you know Jeff, July 4th is always reserved for family, I really want to do this again, I'll have to get permission from the ball & chain this time. You know how my bride is and Corvette get togethers.

man! out of all the times you guys choose to do this...you pick the one weekend I will be up north!!!!!!! I have been waiting for something like this to open up. Because it looks like you guys do this more then once a year please let me know when you will be doing it again or even at a different track! Daytona, Nashville, or anywhere around the south. Thanks guys
