Titusville on the water just off of US1 is pretty easy. The causeways, are accessible...and enable you to get out of the way quickly. If you really want to experience it...order a viewing pass from the Nasa visitors center for the August Launch

Actually, the best view is from the roof of Mission Control - I got that on the maiden flight of Discovery. Now that was a sight!

GREEN MEANS GO!!

And the next best thing is the view pass - wonderful event everytime!

I've done all of my launch's(6) from the Banana River Causeway. SR528/A1A. Lot's o traffic, but a good rowdy crowd that gets into it.

SR528 leads to Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.

The 5th floor at the OSB II is right next door, and just behind the press site...that an incredible viewing site.

You know i've never been there, but I bet the Ron Jon hotel has a killer view. I'm really not sure what hotels to look for with a view. Let me know what you do find though.

I'll be viewing from the visitor's centre. My showtime is 0130. That's going to be a long drive home after the launch.

Yeah...that's the VIP site. It's about the best view on center unless you can get on the VAB roof.
I met Dick Cheney there a couple of years ago.

We're heading up the coast to Titusville around 1:30 AM tomorrow for the launch

There is a scheduling conflict with another rocket launch and the weather may turn ugly. If all goes well I may make another attempt. I took the bus tours and then went home. I left around 0400 EDT and got home at 1000 CDT (7 hours). The Vette did very good - 500rwhp and still averaged 28 MPG for the round trip.
