Anybody interested in a run to the Dragon around the second weekend of October?

October is usually the peak of the Fall color season and the roads are USUALLY cloged with lookie loos, BUT traffic aside it is one of the most beautiful times of year around here, soooo drive slow and look fast.....

I am planning a trip after Carlisle in late August. Is it worth the drive all the way down? I am starting in Mass. Also wanted to do the Cherohala Skyway and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good places to stay where you can park your Vette in front of your room? Cabins, small motels. Appreciate your thoughts
