Default Dealer Recommendations in NC

I recently purchased my 2008 C6, 2 weeks ago, and love the car. I live and work in Mooresville, NC and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the local dealers in terms of their service work. The closest to me is Randy Marion but I want to be sure to start up a relationship with a dealer who I know will have experience working on Corvettes. I am just going to bring it in for an oil change at this time.

Also are there any good Corvette clubs local to Mooresville?

Thanks,
Scott

Since everyone loves pictures, here it is on the day I bought it.

I don't have any direct experience with Randy Marion dealership but have not heard bad about them. I live in Charlotte and use City Chevrolet - Really like their Corvette specialist and their work. Having an older Corvette I have had some more complicated problems and each time they fixed them and at a fair price.

As for clubs, there is Queen City Corvette (Charlotte)...

Randy Marion services all my vehicles (my Jeep included) and has for many years. I have never had a problem with them.

Thanks for the information. I am glad that no one has had issues with Randy Marion. I will try them first, they are within walking distance of work, and see how it goes.

Now are there any issues with being in both clubs at one time or any animosity between them?

I brought the Vette in to Randy Marion today. They did the oil change quickly and said they have no problems working on a car that wasn't bought there.

Thanks for all of the info, especially filling me in about the mountain run.

I also use City Chevrolet in Charlotte. Andy Davis takes great care of me in the service department. He services my company car and my Vette. Neither was bought there, but that doesn't seem to matter. Feel free to use my screen name if you speak to him.

Good luck! Don't forget to wave at other Vette owners, we are real big about that in NC!!

Actually there are three open clubs in the Charlotte area: Queen City Corvette Club, Metrolina Corvettes and Generations Corvette Club. I've got friends in all 3 and many are cross-members. The Corvette community being what it is - this is bound to happen. I don't believe there is any real animosity between clubs. Each one does their own thing. I would suggest checking them all out and then make your own decision.

Enjoy your new C6!

I went on a mountain run with Metrolina last weekend. My wife and I had a lot of fun with them. As cheesy as it sounds, 'the club members are as great as their cars are’. They were very nice and understanding of a newbie like me. I would highly recommend checking them out to anyone else who is new to the Vette experience here in the Charlotte area.

I'm not nice...I'm mean, obnoxious, loud, and evil, just like my possessed C6...

You want that on rye or wheat? Swiss, chedder or provolone?

I've had very good luck thus far with City Chevrolet. Jimmy Poole (704-536-1410) is great to work with and is completely up front about any issues or cost. Robert, the Corvette mechanic, has been there about 40years and knows Corvettes. I know distance is involved, but it's an alternative for you should you need it.

As for clubs, you do have choices. I can only suggest Queen City Corvette Club because that's where we started and have absolutely no reason to go elsewhere. Great folks. But investigate and find the one that suits you.

Don't forget to wave!
