[Paging] NC guys
I am heading down this sun/mon to register my car...whats the closest place to the VA border where i can register my car and get it inspected?
any help would be appreciated, maybe i could even meet up with some of you for lunch :cheers:

Well I live over here in Hampton Roads, and I just go right across the border to get it inspected at an Western Auto. I too keep my car regeistered in NC, but I have a house address in J-ville NC.
You will probably just jet down 95 I suppose, so someone else can probably help you with a location. Do you have a NC address you are going to use? And if you want a personalized plate, it costs 40 bucks a year. You can get up to 8 letters/numbers too. And the best thing, NO FRONT LICENSE PLATE!

What part of NC are you moving to? Some counties require emissions inspection depending on year of car. NC exempts cars 25 years and older from the sniffer, but all car must have an inspection which includes a visual on the emissions.

I am going to come down 95 i usually take the chesapeke Bay Bridge...my house is located on the outer banks (hatteras Island) but i am coming from jersey, so if i can avoid driving all the way down it would be good...my car is an 01 so i am not worried about emissions :cheers:

Man if you are coming down 13, then you'll be heading to OBX out 168 right? You will go right through Moyock, NC. The Western Auto that I get my car inspected at is right across the border and will be on the right a mile or two. If I need to go to DMV, I use the one in Elizebeth city on Hwy 17. The DMV is across from the Albermarl Hospitol in a little strip mall off Hwy 17.
