Fellow Virginians, Senator Normet is the patron on SB519. This Bill will eliminate the required front license plate. This Bill is always tabled when it hits the transportation committee because law enforcement don't want it, thus killing it. Please write your reps and let them know how you feel. Studies have shown a two million dollar savings for the state. If money is as tight as they say, this should be a no brainer.
Corvettes look better with no front plate IMO.
This happened to me too. If you want one of those cheap stickers it will cost you 25 bucks (at least in Arlington anyway). Im givin them 300 bucks for a personal propert tax on the damn thing, you'd think they could send me a 5 cent sticker.

I can deal with the tag but the personal property taxes are bullsh!t!! I stopped buying those ****ing county stickers until I get pulled for it. "The man" is a blood sucking bastard in Virginia.. and for what? They claim they're broke as ****, shutting down all the rest stops and taking funding out of school districts that need it most. Just a couple examples on a subject that I could type on for hours. I'll never understand.

You wont get pulled over if you don't have one. They will just give you a $40 parking ticket (for no sticker displayed) if you park on the street. I got one last year when I left my car for 5 min on the street after I washed it and was letting it dry for a little bit. I dont see then need to pay for one since I never park on the street.
No, I know that. I've been pulled before and if they notice it they give you one of those tickets that get dismissed as long as you get one. So I just end up biting the bullet and buying one just to bring to court to get it dropped.
Although your thoughts about personal taxes are appreciated, this thread is about taking some action. At the end of the day license plates are just another tax. In as much as we can't do anything about the tax, we can try to convince the lawmakers they can have part of that tax levy for other projects. With the State being cash strapped we will never get a better chance to rid ourselves of that awful front plate.
Soooo come on fellow Vetters get the lead out and let your reps know your feelings.
