Any active Corvette clubs in the area?
I found Corvette Club of Richmond on the internet.
Are there any others?
Anyone here a member of a club in Richmond?
I am a member of the Beachcombers Corvette Club of Va Beach, and we do a few events with the club from Richmond. Send me an email and I'll send you the email address of the pres. and vice pres of the club. fastzr1@yahoo.com
Also, you are moving right into the Rat Pack region. You will soon find out how we like to have fun. Cruises, shows, racing, and oh don't forget the Hampton Roads Hooter Tour. We will be making our 4th stop next Saturday at the Hooters in Norfolk. Gonna ba a good one. We have a private lot to park in right next to the water. There are a couple guys living in Richmond that join us.
Coming from DC Metro area - not too far.
Buying a house in Mechanicsville, Kings Charter subdivision.
I won't be able to make any of the events down that way till sometime in May. In the mean time I will be hanging out with my club up here in MD.
Right now I'm living and working in Richmond during the week and living in MD on the weekends, till both my closings happen sometime the end of April.
Cruises, shows, races, I'm up for all of that - I don't show my car and I don't race - no roll bars in the verts ya know - but I do tag along to socialize.
The Richmond Club doesn't do 1/100th as much as the Beachcombers gang from Eastern Virginia. Those guys have all the fun. Good luck even finding the Richmond Club doing anything here. I'm usually the lone Richmond person tagging along to all the Rat Pack events because I think (well, I'll tell ya in person). Let's just say that drive down Route 5 past the Plantations and the twisties to Norfolk/Hampton Roads is worth it over anything in Richmond. :D
Welcome to Richmond...where we're pretty much lame. LOL. About the only thing in Richmond is Zip Corvette, the drag strip (no roll bar required), and the Christmas light tour through downtown. Otherwise, it's one big yawn.
Gee, there goes any job chance for the Chamber of Commerce :). Basically, stick with the Rat Pack guys and you'll have a great time in my opinion.
Purerock105,
If I still lived in FL I wouldn't be moving to Richmond either !!! :)
-evelyn...
Even better Evelyn is that I lived in northern Virginia for 10-years. From
1970 to 1980. Springfield/Franconia. Lucky me gets to do 'all' the driving
when showing friends all the sites in DC. :(
Mike - we did meet at the Skyline Cruise - I haven't been able to make one since. Seems they always hit a weekend when I can't make it.
I'm currently a memeber of the Corvette Club Of America in Gaithersburg, MD. This group is always participating in something and I've made some great friends. I was the treasurer till I decided to move.
Tim, perhaps you won't be the lone Richmond person hanging out with the Rat Pack once I get moved. I got the impression that the Richmond club might be pretty active from their web site.
I'll say it really quiet ;). Politics....shhhhh. Don't lemme talk ya out of it, though. There's some good people there. Hang with the Rat Pack if you just wanna have laid-back fun.
Great...now, my official Christmas Lights Tour Director badge has probably been revoked .
Thanks for all the welcomes and information.
I've been here for the last 3 weeks without the Vette.
I couldn't stand it any longer so I got a garage at the apartment complex and drove it down last night. So if ya see a red ragtop with Maryland plates give a wave and hollar :)
