I have been overseas for the last year and I am coming home in December. My wife and i have rented a huge cabin (9 BR) in the Smokeys for all of our relatives to come and spend the week between Christmas and New years. Since I have been overseas, my poor C6 roadster has been home alone, driven only once a month or less by a relative to keep her running. I love driving in Smokeys but I am wondering if the roads are all typically iced up during that time of year.
Should I leave my Vette in Louisiana, or bring her along and take a chance that there will not be iced over roads?
I grew up in Knoxville, it will be hit or miss around the holidays. Winters have been kinda mild lately, just watch the extended forcast, you probably will be ok. Take the Vette and enjoy the twisties, the rodes to and from Gatlinburg are incredible!
You should be fine. The bad weather doesn't start until Jan or Feb. Only issues you will have are getting to the cabin. I stayed in one cabin up a steep gravel road. I was currently driving a GTO. That took several attempts to make it up.

Thanks, I had one of those cabins on the side of a mountain a few years back, so I can relate. I think this cabin is in a valley near Wears Valley so that shouldn't be an issue.
