Annual Corvette Beach Caravan

Circle City Corvettes, Inc. is having it's annual Corvette Beach Caravan, May 19-21, 2011. There will be a Corvette caravan from Dothan, AL. to Panama City Beach, FL., and we are going to party!

Meet the special guests such as Kirk Bennion, C6 Designer, Steve Grilli and Eric Millette, Corvette Plant Engineers, and Wendell Strode, NCM Director, and attend their seminars. Enter the Car Show or Golf Tournament, or just relax on the beach. We will have door prizes, parties, and a Corvette Memorabilia auction to benefit the National Corvette Museum. Hey All just an update to let you know that the Beach Caravan is still going on. We didn't have the damage and tornados that our North Alabama neighbors had (God Bless them, our prayers are with you.)

We will also have 2 prototype cars that will be trailered down to the Marriot Bay Point resort in PC. One will be the Carbon ZO6 and the other I believe will be the Centennial Edition Corvette. Plus Steve Grilli will be bringing an Inferno Orange ZO6! 3!! cars that if you didn't get to go the Bash to see them will be right here at our lil ole Beach Caravan.

Corvette Car Show at Bay Point Marriott Beach Resort. Corvette Seminars by special guests Steve, Grilli, Corvette Assembly Plant Quality Manager and Kirk Bennion, GM Corvette Exterior Design Engineer; Corvette item auction to benefit the National Corvette Museum; Guest speaker, Wendell Strode, NCM Executive Director; Awards Banquet with appetizers and cash bar. Awards for best club participation & long distance award. Shop at the National Corvette Museum Store.


Even if you can't enter the car show, we hope you can stop by for a visit! If there are specific items you want from the Corvette Store, let us know by Tuesday and we can prepare your items ahead of time.

We can't wait either. Looking forward to all the eye candy that GM is sending us, 4-5 special edition and 2012 cars. The Saturday night auction has some really great stuff. Will be fun to see Kelly and Steve Grilli in action as auctioneers!

 

Hey folks, its not too often you can attend a Corvette event and rub shoulders with the guy that did most of the exterior design work on the C6 - Kirt Bennion; And with the guy who is responsible for quality control at the Bowling Green plant - Steve Grilli. And listen to these guys give seminars. Also, we will have 4 to 5 cars from GM including a 2012 Centenial Edition Z06, a Carbon Edition Z06 in Supersonic Blue, a 2012 Inferno Orange Z06, another 2012, and maybe just maybe the incredible Z06X !!!! If you can't make the run down or are just free for the day, you can participate in the car show Saturday (21 May) and still chat with the Corvette factory people and enjoy the seminars. To quote an email from the club president " The 'Saturday Only' option includes the car show, attendance to the seminars, an event TO-shirt, and its only $40."

Also "This year, instead of getting 2 new Corvettes from the Corvette plant in Bowling Green to show off to our participants, we will get those 2, AND 2-3 more directly from GM. We will have: A 2012 Centennial Edition Z06, a 2012 Carbon edition Z06 in Supersonic Blue, another in Inferno Orange, another 2012, and maybe just maybe the track ready Z06X !!!"

A new TV Corvette Reality show is being filmed and will be at our Beach Caravan Event. For all of you who are coming bring your brightest smile and have fun! You just may be on TV!

 

We hope ya'll have fun and be safe. Hate to miss this event this year, next year we will be down for sure.

Kelly, enjoy the golf bud. You got an entire year to practice. Say hi to Steve G. and Kirk Bennion for us. Sitting around drinking beer at the hotel last year was hilarious with Steve G and Kirk. Those two are full of jokes.

I'm hoping that we will be seeing all your smiling faces on tv soon! The video crew and Drew Waters had fun and plenty of opportunities to get some awesome footage.
It looks like the auction raised around $9,000.00 for the NCM.
