Default Lowering needed in NOVA

I have a '98 C5 with the f45 suspension. I'm looking to lower it on the stock bolts. I've called and got a ridiculous quote from Pohanka and "corvette specialiats" is near me but i've heard nightmares about that shop.

Is there some place reasonable around NOVA where i can get this done at.

I have not done it myself- but from the tutorials I have read is seems fairly straightforward to do on your own. Have you considered giving it a shot yourself and then just taking it in for an alignment? I'm local should you wish to give it a crack on your own.

Good Luck,

Do it yourself. Go rent a lift at DIY Mechanics garage in Sterling for about 2 hours and download the tutorial online. 2 hours and you can clean the debris from your radiator, change your oil if needed, and lower the car about 3/4". Just make sure you drop all corners as close to evenly as possible.

Look like I will end up doing it myself. I never heard of this place http://www.ditymechanics.com/index.html

I will be checking it out this week. I think I may just wait and do my brakes and sway bars at the same time. Now I'm thinking about all the money i could have saved

Ya, its a great place. Clean, and can save money. They have pretty much all tools you will ever need. I did all my fluids and brake lines there.

Do you know about Nova Corvette Club? www.nvcorvetteclub.com They have a couple of garage days there and its free if you're a member. It's a great club with lots of cool people and good events.

DIY looks like a nice place. Almost did my npp there, but ended up doing it in my garage- a lift woulda been nice- but it's nice not to be rushed by the $$$hour$$$. Again, if you need a hand we can tackle it... When it cools off a tad!!!!

Thanks, I might take you up on your offer. I'd offer to detail your car in exchange

I am pretty well stocked up on detailing supplies- autogeek got quite a bit of change from me over the past year! LOL! But in any case, the offer stands, just PM me! I'm in South Riding, just a basic 2 car garage, but enough room/tools for the average job.

I might be able to help. I've got my own garage and some beers. Live in the Chantilly area. I'm trying to look around and find someone to help me weld up the mufflers for the mod. I can probably get them off myself, but no since in it until I find a good welder.
