Anybody from the Lakeland, FL area know of a trusy mechanic. I may need a wheel bear and some suspension work done on my 1994, plus a general overlook since I just purchased her recently.
nobody more trusty than yourself! seriously, consider wrenching on it.. your money will go a lot further than paying the going rate for a mechanic who often lacks attention to detail..
That is what I did with my Magnum. Saved me tons. Never tackled a wheel bearing tho. I'll have to search for a good, detailed write-up. My good friend has replaced bushings before, I'm sure he can help with that.
...but still nice to know if any mechs are still around. lol
the wheel bearings are sealed units.. you just unbolt them and replace 'em.. relatively simple. Wheel and brake hardware has to come off first.
i have the helms manuals for '94, let me know if you need any specific information.

Thanks Mike. I have been reading a lot about this and I think I will. I am reading many mixed reviews on brands tho. Timken appears to be good, but there are those few dudes that seem to rip them apart. So I guess I am deciding on a brand right now.
Also think I should replace my rear bushings while I am down there...will I need a re-alignment if I do this?

Timken is a Grade A Brand as is SKF, NTN, and several others.
I'll keep all those in mind. But I have been looking more closely and it may have already been replaced. I originally thought it was an issue because I thought I heard a noise and so when I got home, I went to look at the back left wheel well and I found that the tire was rubbing...or was it. I haven't really noticed a noise since then other than the possibly 18 year old bushings. I think the shocks may be cr@pped out...which is terribly sad seeing as they are after market shocks which one of the last owners put on in place of the FX3 SRC!!! SHHEEESSSHHH!!
old bushings / rubber can certainly contribute to noise and sloppy handling! check the price on FX3 shocks before you knock the previous owner for not using them! you might agree that a nice set of bilstein's (Z07 or ZR1 spec) are just fine!

True. I can get a set of Bilsteins for $370 versus abouf $200 each...so nearly half the price. I only knock them though because some no-namers were put on there.
Is it not worth rebuilding the FX3 system? My understanding is that is kicks butt being able to drive the car daily on the street and then flip a **** for the track. Opinions?
