Default VA Beach help/info...

I am new to the VA Beach area and looking to get back into a Corvette (had an 05, but had to get rid of it last year). Anyway, can anyone recommend a good dealer in the area? The few I've been to so far didnt seem too big on Corvettes. Also, anyone in the local area have the new Borla ATAK or S-Type on their car, id be interested in hearing it if possible before throwing them on in the future. Thanks

I used to live in that area and I would NOT recomend any dealer in Hampton Roads. They prey upon young sailors who have no idea that a 29.99% intrest rate is a bad loan. Look on autotrader, or these forums in the for sale section for your best bet and deal.

If you do auto trader expand your search area. Seems like the further north the cheaper and better deal you get. It gets old and hard on the knee driving in the stop and go traffic with a manual in the NVA and DC metro area.

For some odd reason I saw a lot of good deals in NY as well, not sure if the longer winters play a role in people selling them.

Get the best deal possible regardless of the distance. Remember you can always have it shipped for less then a 1k from almost any of the 50 states.

I was born and raised in this area ,and I did not buy my 99' here. I bought it from Berglund in Roanoke, Va. The large military presence causes two issues for trying to get a good deal on a car here:

1) High transient population - so many military families get shipped in and out of this town each year, the car dealers figure they can screw everyone that comes in the door and word will never get out about them because of the turnover.

2) Military "signing/reenlistment" bonuses means there are always people with a sizable chunk of cash to lay down who don't have housing or other expenses, which means if you don't want to pay full sticker, plus markup, the dealer will just wait for the next ship to come in (literally and figuratively).

I went to all the chevy dealers when I was shopping in 99' and none of them wanted to sell me a car, and I was willing to pay sticker. I have bought other new cars since then...none of them from a dealer here.
