Having had many Vetts since '63 M y 06 Z0 6 is by far the best with the exception of my split window 360 fulie '63 however it died. I was lucky
Would love to see an event in Pompano Beach .... many many enthusiasts Here . Been a wrench head for more years than I care to say
I've been hoping someone would have a car "Dyno Day" in my area. I've attended several for motorcycles, but no cars as of yet.
I don't want to just throw Ragin' Racin's name in the hat to sponsor without asking, but they have the facility and staff. Plus, they are some of the best tuners in the Southeast!
As added benefits, we could have the local Hooter's girls at the shop to wash your car and when you're car is tuned, tested, and washed, you can take a short trip to Baton Rouge and do a track day at No Problem Raceway.
Since this is a regional event I suggest a multi State cruise event where we can all meet, greet and talk vette talk. Charitable Bowling Green event was already suggested. How about a cruise in February to Daytona speedway.
How about a big swap meet for all of us that have a garage full of parts that we've taken off or no longer need. the hooter girls car wash couldn't hurt either though!!!
Logged in to post Detailing Clinic and see several others have already endorsed the idea. Maybe something to it!
To be valuable, such an event would have to have both educational (the what) and practical (the how) components. Truly an intimidating topic to stay on top of.
Sub topics could be:
-Body protection for winter
-Convertible top care
-Headlight rejuvenation
-Engine compartment detailing
-Clear-Bra application
It's mostly over now, but a fall foliage trip would be fun.
Alternatively, the local Cobra club has a Saturday breakfast at a local dive- the Corvette guys could do the same. Early morning, in and out without much loss of time on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
How about a paint & body clinic with a little bit of detailing thrown in concerning paintp finishes. It is one of the least understood as far as correct processes and finding a good, quality shop.
We could drive to the Marine Corps Museum at Quantico. They have a large parking lot. With a little, coordination, we might arrange for a representative of the regiment to accept our donation on the spot, with a small ceremony. We could then see the museum, and on a nice day (springtime?), have a "bring your own food" picnic at Prince William Forest Park (just across I-95).
How about cruising the "Bourbon Trail" in Ky? Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Four Roses, Maker's Mark, Woodford Reserve, etc. Lots of beautiful country, and nice roads to cruise!
Power Tech Performance held it's first "Dyno Day" and it was a great success. They are planning on doing another and it would be great if you could join in. They are a forum vendor and a great shop in St. Petersburg, FL. Allproceeds go to St. Jude's 100% this event is not a one time fund raiser and with 100% of all dollars going to the charity it is one that any quality company can be proud to be associated with.
