I have heard about this but have never attended. Might be worth taking it in.

My wife and I are buying a home in the Sarasota area. This is the kind of stuff I am looking for. Hope it gets a good turn out.
We will be down there next week. Any good car events going on that anyone might recommend.
We will be moving down there full time in about 2 1/2 years. Looking forward to it.

Do you have a listing of events in the Sarasota area? I might be moving down to this area from Orlando in a few months.

Well we're back from Florida and had a great time. Made all the final selections for the new house, and they should start building soon. Probably close sometime in the fall. We'll be part time residents at first, but in about 2 1/2 years we will be full time. Looking forward to checking out the car scene and meeting some fellow Forum members.
Any additional info on the area would be welcomed. Thanks.

We'll have to bring down a few cars to a meet soon there.. Missed yesterday and we'll be at the Sunshine rally next month. April, however, is looking good.

Thinking about hosting a monthly event at our shop too, same deal just a hang out early morning to BS with car guys.. Nothing better than that!

I looked at that community and it is very nice. I decided to have a house built in the Country Club East community off Loraine road that is off route 70.
I am renting in Country Club East now and will move into my new house when it is completed in July. My Corvette is in storage in Orlando but I will bring it down in the next month or so. I am new to this area ( moved here from Orlando ) but I really like it and look forward to meeting other Corvette owners.

I did attend the car show last week in Venice, it was great but they only had on road in and out so traffic sucked. I did see some nice Corvettes and talked with a few owners.

I see that L.I., NY in your avatar there... Guess we got another northerner invading FL. I was born and raised on LI (South Shore Nassau Cty), lived there for 22 years before moving to NJ because of my shop.

Lakewood Ranch is a nice area, I looked at the Yacht Club over there when I was looking at apartments, just picked near the bench instead. If I knew how much closer I'd be to the track I may have changed my mind! We use the Lakewood Ranch cut-through from the shop to go to BMP, nice and easy 70 thru Lakewood Ranch Blvd up to 64.

Maybe we should have an all northerners meet at the shop.

I've heard that there is a "cruise nite" in Lakewood Ranch on the 3rd Wednesday of each month on Main St. If you attend, post up and let me know if its a good turn out. Country Club East is really nice. Construction on our house should be starting soon and completed later this year.

Can't take the winters up here anymore. Everytime we go to Sarasota/Bradenton area we love it.

Set up the meet and I will definately go when we finally get down there.

Always heard very good things about ECS on the northeast forum. Glad to know there will be a good shop for me when we get there .

I haven't heard about the main street cruise night but I will try to check out the next one and let you know what it's like.

Matt does great work, I knew someone in Orlando that had a procharger installed on his GS by Matt and he loved it. I think it was the same color as my GS and was a auto if I remember correctly, he was very impressed with the quality work that was done.

I also am up for a get together sometime, I do plan on attending the Corvette show in Venice next month so I hope to meet some other local Corvette folks then.

Looks to be about 30 minutes from Lakewood Ranch. Plenty of other shows coming up in the area, just look at the club website for car shows or check out the Southeast Forum under 2013 Florida events.
