Default Ormond Beach FL I-95 Corvette Crash

I saw this on the news yesterday, looks like the C5 is totaled but hopefully the owners are okay. Crash happened on I-95 in Ormand Beach FL, looks like it was a very nice car.

Hi John

Yeah - I saw that on the TV news as well.

Here's a link to a Daytona News-Journal article:

http://www.news-journalonline.com/ar...ter-I-95-crash

Driver was from NJ, and it says he suffered serious injuries. Apparently he was the only one in the car.

TheTV report I heard said it was a rollover accident, but it doesn't look like the windshield is squished down, so I suspect it didn't rollover.

Hello I am replying to the post about the C5 crash that occurred on I95 in Ormond Beach Fla. I am the drivers wife. My hubby suffered 3 fractured ribs, concussion, bruised lung, torn rotator cuff, back and neck pain as well as an awful road rash on his left elbow. The car didnt roll over. He was cutoff by a young driver which is why he lost control of the car. Needless to say the car is totaled but saved my hubby. He was on his way to visit family in West Palm Beach. Sorry that one of the posters thought the car was ugly but I must disagree. The car turned many heads because of the unique color combo. Wherever we went young and old alike asked to take pictures of the car. Sad to see the car totaled but it did its job in protecting my husband from a fatality. And yes it was in mint condition with only 29k miles on it.

I hope your husband has a speedy and complete recovery. Very sorry about the car, hopefully he'll find another one that he likes as well as the one that was totaled.

Thanks for the update. Your husband is a lucky guy, with a convertible it could have gotten really serious. And I disagree with the earlier poster, I love those pace cars. That is such a unique color combo. Awesome car, I hate to see it destroyed.

Hi

Orthopedic confirmed shoulder has a fragmented fracture and tear in rotator cuff. Needs to stay in sling for 8 weeks. Fractured ribs healing slowly, glass is still coming out of his arm. Yuck!!

We just listed the Car for parts on the C5 forum. SMH big sigh.........

Thank you for your concern.

Glad to hear your husband is going to be ok. Hopefully when he fully recovers you guy's will get into another vette soon.

Is there anyway that the driver who cut him off can be found?
If so do your best to see that they are put into a body bag so they can never do this to anyone else ever again.
