My very first ride in a Corvette we hit a deer and the car was a total. When I lived in Oregon hitting deer was a part a learning to drive.
Never fun hitting a large object in the road especially one that comes out of no where. I personally have killed 11 deer, three with a .30/30 and the rest while driving or riding in a car.

That was a close call. Don't see too many deer on this side of the water. I've come close to hitting a few when I was growing up in Michigan. The last time I went home with the Impala I almost got one on the way to my parents house with Patsy in the car. Luckily I was only doing about 25 or so and just locked it on the dirt road, cleared the hood and missed the window. It definetely was a Kodak moment to say the least. Glad you are both okay.
