WOW that was a fun day wasn't it. How lucky did we get with the weather holding out?
I was the car flatbeded out. Shredded the serpentine belt on the front straight. Went into turn one with no powersteering and the car throwing codes. That was a lil bit scary til I figured out I really had to yank on the wheel. Really glad I was braking early anyway especially on that lap.
Really special thanks to White's Chevrolet in Roanoke Rapids who flat-bedded it to the shop and replaced the belt. Got back over to the track as everyone was leaving. The dealership GM, Fred was out there with us today and he made sure I was taken care of. Also the guy running the flatbed and the track officials who helped made sure we got the car on there without any scraping. Really amazing service and I am super thankful.
Sincere apologies for holding everyone up!
Good to see/meet a bunch of you. Nice driving out there by everyone. Looking forward to any picts/vids. Especially if the guy in the C7 who's passenger had the gopro out the roof pointing back. If those vids turned out that would be great. Don't have anything like that now.
And David feel free to post the picts you took as my car was being taken out. That was kinda funny to watch from the shuttle van behind it.

I finally went out to the garage this evening and decided to clean the numbers off the windshield. Unfortunately it looks like it took a hell of a beating that day. Tons of small chips all over it. Looks like it has about 40k miles on it and not the 4k miles that it does. That will teach me to try and follow in behind someone I let around me, especially on that track. Lots of debris all over it. I'm guessing they don't have any sort of track cleaning equipment/blower at NCCAR.
Glad I forked over the money for a full front clear bra, I can't imagine what my paint would have looked like without it.

Some wear their war wounds like a badge of honor. It helps those at car shows know who actually drives their cars. That said, of course it sucks to see ones pride'n'joy messed up.

Thanks to White's Chevrolet in Roanoke Rapids, I got fixed that afternoon!
Still no aerial vids from the website
Did find this vid on tube that I have never seen before. What a flyby...

I wish I would have thought to charge my 3 cameras that I brought with me. Would have had a lot of great footage. Rookie mistake and will try better next time. lol
