Our club is renting the Centerville Drag Strip Saturday, April 1st. Anyone that has a Vette is welcome to run. The strip is located about 30 minutes from Russellville, Arkansas.
I will put more info out as it gets closer, but you can get more info at glenacre@sbcglobal.net
This is something that our club does every year. If you have ever been a participant, you know the procedure.

I will be doing a road trip this weekend from Virginia to Arkansas to visit my folks in Fort Smith. I wont be back through that way until July but man that sure sounds like fun. I used to go to Centerville as a young man on the weekends and watch the local action. it was a blast.
I knew the Young family who used to own the strip and served in the US Army with Homer Young. I don't know if they still do but they were great folks.....
Have fun

They have just did some renovations on the track, such as resurfacing. I'm looking forward to trying out the new surface.

Looks like the weather is going to be great for the drags Saturday. High around 80 degrees, and nothing but sunshine.

I ended up being a runner up in the drags (bracket racing). In the finale round I met up with someone that ran 2 tenths of his dial in and was under .1 on the lights. I wasn't that good and simply could not catch him.
Any day at the drags is a good day though.

My best time for the 1000' was a 9.82 at 118.95 mph. Sixty ft wasn't good... 2.12. I have the power, but I can't get it to the ground, even with racing radials. I'm running Nitto NTO5R's (18 pounds of air), but I'm still fishing tailing half the way through 2nd. If I could only get the 60' times down......wishful thinking.
I only race one time a year, so it's not like I get a lot of seat time.
60'......2.1259
300'....5.3953
1/8.....7.8861
1000'..9.8253....118.95 MPH
