I saw this BWW this morning with a black Florida plate. It had “Florida” on the top and “The Sunshine State” at the bottom. It had white letters with the registration sticker at the top right. I checked the DMV website and didn’t see it so I wonder if it’s new? I know the antique plates are black, but this is a new model BMW. Maybe the owner modded the plate, however I don't think that's legal and he's risking a violation. Sorry for the bad picture but it gives an idea what the plate looked like.

There is also a UCF plate that is all black.

Thanks. I've seen both of those and per the picture, the plate isn't one of the sports specialty plates as there were no logos or other markings. Just a black plate with letters/numbers. I'm thinking the owner may have painted the standard plate with the state logo/orange (in the middle separating the letters/numbers) and then painted the letters white.

The only black plate I’ve seen that isn’t a sports team is a COP plate. May have been an undercover unit
