Default Love Bugs

We live in Start Florida and thus are very familiar with Love Bugs. We are planning on making a drive to western N.C. the week of 9/10. Since this is in the normal Love Bug season we are planning on leaving at 4:30 a.m. to be well north by the time we are used to seeing them. However, in researching information on Love Bugs I found information indicating that Love Bugs exist in George, South Carolina and North Carolina. I have always avoided traveling as much as possible in May and September (Love Bug season here) and have no experience with them in other States. Now for the question for you folks in George, South Carolina and North Carolina do you get Love Bugs? If so I will reschedule as I do not want to have to deal with cleaning them off of the Corvette to prevent them from killing my paint.

Thanks

When I lived in FL, there were truly a nuisance for the brief periods of the year you encountered them. I wouldn't postpone your trip because of that, but...

We don't have them in the northern (Atlanta and above) part of the state.

Thanks……I found a few places that state Love Bug are also an issue in the Georgia and S.C. coastal areas. I have lived in FL since 1970 and have cleaned them off of more cars than I care to remember. I think I will keep an eye out to see how bad the season gets before deciding. The Vette has XPEL and paint coating so getting them off of the paint is work but not that big of a deal. It is the grill and radiator etc I don’t want to deal with. BTW I have rented cars to make day trips to Orlando in Love Bug season to avoid the need to deal with them on my car. Money well spent in my opinion.

You notice how they don't show you how easy the bugs come off after the fact.I guess were just supposed to take their word for it.
