Tampa Tuning - A+!!
Hello everyone,
I have a stock 2010 base Corvette. My goal is "stock+", so I decided to get it tuned for its current configuration.
I live in Florida, and am back and forth between Pinellas and Leon counties. Based on some online reviews, I went with Tampa Tuning - owned and operated by a gentleman named Phil.

Thanks, Phil! A+ for the tune and your professionalism!

Experience
- Met at 10 am
- Phil explained some of the metrics he looks at, and some changes he typically makes
- He then set up his testing equipment - exhaust sensor apparatus, OBD connector, battery, diagnostic unit, and laptop
- We tested the car over five runs (More or less may be needed depending on mods, complications, and the like.). I drove while Phil analyzed. Each run consisted of a light drive, WOT pulls, a steady cruise, and an idle evaluation.
- Phil explained his analysis and adjustments, answering all of my questions. He was also very personal and friendly!
- Finished at 1 pm
Changes
- Eliminated skip-shift (When I first got the car, I liked this feature... but it quickly got annoying.)
- Cooling fans turn on sooner and more powerfully (slightly)
- Adjusted timing to have a bit more throttle response down low and potentially higher cruising efficiency (I don't fully understand the concept of timing...)
- Altered air-to-fuel ratio (12.5-14.5 range, I believe)
- Adjusted air inlet temperature to be a bit lower (not sure how)
- Potential gain of 10-15 horsepower and torque, and .5-1 mpg on the highway (Not the purpose of the tune, but a benefit nonetheless!)
Cost
- The price was very reasonable! Phil charges slightly different rates based on the likes of mods and newness, for things like these tend to complicate the analysis and demand more time. As a stock C6, my car was on the cheaper end.
- Expect to to pay $300-400
Thanks, Phil! A+ for the tune and your professionalism!

Best mod and money spent on my Vette. Phil does great work and explains what’s happening all along the way. Enjoy your tuned ride!

Nice to see happy customers from forum sponsors. I’ve never personally met someone who got their car tuned by him so it’s cool to hear. Tunes really change the demeanor of the car in a good way. When I got my C5 tuned with headers you could kind of feel it but it wasn’t super noticeable. Was expecting the same with the C6 but I was proven wrong, the torque management on the C6’s is severely capped by the OEM configuration. I’ve heard it’s even more noticeable on automatic cars but imma 3 pedals or die kinda guy.
