Corvette Cruises: Raleigh, NC
The way it works is that I set a date each month, develop all the details and send out an email a couple weeks in advance. I make a reservation at a restaurant that has a private dining area as the destination of the cruise that is approximately 60-90 minutes away from the starting point of the cruise. (Finding restaurants with a private dining area allows us to have our own space for fellowship while we eat.) Sometimes after our meal we find an ice cream shop nearby for more after-dinner fun.
I determine a specific route ahead of time (Google Maps) that includes primarily country roads. I try to avoid congested areas when at all possible. Typically, the starting point of each cruise is at a designated location near Wake Forest, NC with the meeting time being 1:30 on the scheduled Sunday afternoon. This gives folks plenty of time to get home from church. From the meeting point we then head to our destination together in a caravan and arrive at the restaurant about 3 PM. (For those of you who have done this kind of thing you know how cool it is to drive your Vette in a line of several other Vettes.)
So far, we’ve had about 10 cruises and have had anywhere between 3 and 13 cars in our cruises.
I’m posting here to invite those of you in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area to PM me if you want to be included on the emails that I send out as the notice of these cruises.
