Default Fl engine builders

Who on the space coast area of Florida can work on the engine of a c6z06. I was told it needs a complete rebuild. I’ve got a buyer lined up for the car but they want a good engine in the deal and I guess I don’t really blame them. Preferably a shop that has a tow service as well. Thanks

The Vette doctor in Melbourne would be worth calling. If he doesn’t do rebuilds he can probably give you some contacts.

Redline got in touch with me and we’ve been emailing back and forth. I think it’s going to go to them

I’ve heard good things about fast forward racing engines. But when I called them to build my engine they said they weren’t taking on any new work.

now that I’ve got the car back I can answer this one. They have actually had it since March. All they have done to it is start a massive oil leak that soaked the exhaust manifold and started a smoke screen to the people behind me while getting it home today. I’ve been told it’s next, we’ll start next week, the oil filter has been cut open and checked, we are going to cut the oil filter open next week, the machine shop is closed the machine shop is back open, you need a crate motor to no yours is fine. I finally got tired of waiting and found a buyer and went to get the car.

Good to know. Your experience there sounds like my experience with a shop in S.C. They have had my car since February and I still don’t have it.

on top of everything else it started spewing smoke on the way home. Oil everywhere under the hood. They had pulled the valve covers and didn’t put gaskets back when they put the covers back on. Entire engine bay is soaked now

That is ugly and sloppy and inexcusable.
The S.C. shop is doing quality work (at least as much as I can tell from the pics, phone calls and videos) and the guy has built a lot of ls engines.
i guess I need to look in Orlando and south Florida. A shame since they were so close.

I’m working with redline motorsports in pompano beach. They have been in constant contact and are currently working to find a transport company for me to get it down there.

Will be interested to know how they do.
The shop in S.C. shaved the heads, put in new btr stage 3 cam, valve springs, trunion kit, new clutch, flywheel, higher pressure/volume oil pump, new harmonic balancer, replaced all the rear seals, replaced engine gaskets, modded the exhaust and other maintenance stuff. Hoping to complete the dyno tune this week and get the car next week.
The builder is expecting north of 450 RWHP. We’ll see. Don’t know what I will do with all that power if he is correct since that would be double the power of my previous track car and the Vette weighs slightly less. Going to take some getting used to.

We will do just fine. This is what we do and have been doing it for 32 years. We do all our engine development and building in house and are far from a "bolt on" shop. As discussed with the OP; I don't see why the other shop couldn't effectively diagnose the vehicle in a day even if the engine had or be removed. The longer you don't diag the problem the longer it doesn't get fixed.

As soon as we see car we will figure it out and get him back in action!

Thanks for the info. You will likely see me at your shop. Please don’t talk this the wrong way, but I hope it won’t be anytime soon 🙂
